I agree but many BBs love the look of doing the exercise with a straight bar.

Any of you Musclemen ever use Criterion Bars?
The Olympic curl one looks interesting...
I do seated supinated DB Curls......starting with my palms facing backwards and rotating them as I curl then I reverse the process......moderate weight with no cheating and you will really feel them bad boys.

Thats a nice bar, mine is OK (cheap Titan) but does the job. The spacing is perfect for me when doing skull-crushers. (Dont like when its too close)..

I have the competition gopher bar but it's a little too extreme the rogue feels better for training

The higher end bars have better ball bearings and the weight just kind of rolls a little better in the wrist forearm when curling. The fixed ez curl bars that are preset at the gym dont roll at all and it is a different feeling.

Yeah, from time to time. Then got into bodyweight exercises. I was really into it (lifting) until I discovered this place. I should "undiscover" getbig and see what happens.

Body weight stuff is great. Sometimes I wish I was never into lifting. I probably would have been a lot more healthier doing running and body weight stuff. I blame lifting for wrecking my shoulders. Guys who serious bodyweight guys look great.

any sport can cause injuries, running included. I know more than a few people who have trained in martial arts & also caused wear & tear on their joints.
I knew a Girl who started TaeKwon Do at a very early age & by her early 20s had hip problems.
Look at these muscle ups people do on bars, don´t you think the joints are under extreme stress? any extreme range of motion under stress regardless if bodyweight or weights are used can injure your joints & soft structures

I've never bought an EZ bar but got a few thrown in when buying used equipment.

Right now have two of them set up for doing close grip curls, reverse wrist curls, skull crushers.

Generally, I don't use them much.

I wrecked my knee doing karate.

Had a couple injuries from contact but the bad one was doing an oblique kick to a heavy bag.

I still do self-defense stuff but there is no reason to do high risk things.

After you reach a certain age I think you need to avoid certain activities.

Forget that weekend softball game type stuff.

Far superior than what?

You do squats with dumbbells? Deadlifts with dumbbells?

I think peaked biceps were more common in the 60s,  70's and 80's and so were barbell curls. Seems like modern guys exclusively use dumbbells and cables for biceps and it's rare to see great biceps today as opposed to the golden era.

This is where we disagree to a point.

Weekend softball only leads to injury if you're not training properly.

I probably played about 50-60 games of baseball last year across three leagues, without any injury related to age or conditioning.  I probably ran close to full speed hundreds of times, including dives, slides, jumping, etc....

I have seen guys up to a decade older than me playing hard as shit.

Does the risk of injury increase as you get older?  Without a doubt.  Do they take longer to recover - f yes, but you can mitigate and still do most things if you put in the work in a sensible manner.

My knee injury has affected my lifestyle quite a bit unfortunately.

The Rocktape 5mm &  7mm on Amazon are like $30.  Those are working fine for me.  Train with the 7's, used the 5's in events.
