Survivor rock band singer dies - Jimi Jamison

Jimi Jamison -- who was the lead singer for the bands Cobra and Survivor -- passed away Sunday night. He was 63.

                 saw them 2 x's in concert first time very good, second time i think the lead singer was drunk or ailing.

The guy who died wasn't the original "Eye of the Tiger" vocalist... I think this guy joined right after that album.

The guy in the beret is Dave Bickler, and no he isn't dead. Jimi Jamison took over as vocalist in 1984 (after "Eye of the Tiger") and recorded and toured with the band for the next 30 years. For many people he was "the" lead singer of Survivor.

Yeah, he had a lot of hits with the band... I never really listened to them, I'm more of a metal head, hard rock guy, but i do know they were good...

The cause of death was released

Jimi Jamison had a narrowing of his arteries and cardiovascular disease ... according to the report -- however it lists the brain stroke as the ultimate cause of death. He died back in September at his home in Memphis.

Jamison took over as the band's frontman in 1984 -- after their biggest hit, "Eye of the Tiger" -- but was responsible for several other hits like ... "The Search is Over" and "Is This Love?"
