If our world became a true "utopia"...
« on: September 04, 2014, 01:50:59 PM »
...everyone in the world had enough to eat, a roof over their head, free health care and education, free pension, no suicide, no wars, very low child mortality, no cancer, no AIDS, etc. how long would food, water and other natural resources last?

Discuss.

What's to discuss? You've already answered your own question in the premise.
There would be no scarcity of food & water... because everyone " had enough to eat"

Is the next question 'What colour was George Washington's white horse?'   ::)

If everyone had enough to eat today, how long would that last?  The premise is clear, to any sane, intelligent individual.

Don't bother responding as I do not wish to have any discussions with you.  I've gone easy on you for a while now at Montague's request and out of respect for him.  So don't push it, you antisemitic Canadian.

honestly, I think 7 billion people would easily survive.

Most of us have enough uneaten chicken and rice in our trash each week to feed those starving in the world.

Toss in "let's suppose we turn 800 military bases into food processing/distribution centers lol...

We blow so much money as a country on ball washing and weapons systems and corporate tax breaks.  Not to mention the families that sit on millions for generations and never bother touching it, just living off interest.   The world could EASILY all eat if everyone wanted to share.

Of course, that'd make us a socialist society, and eventually it'd collapse as everyone stopped showing up for work because the 30% of people that are actual conservatives get tired of it and decide to load up some guns and say no lol.
