Seems like he had his shit in order, and new his rights.  Good for him.  The only mistake he made was unlocking and opening the door.  He could have carried out that same conversation from behind a shut and locked door.  Never open the door for the police, unless they have a search warrant.

Yes, but violating the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution is NOT part of their job. They took an oath to uphold the Constitution. Not just uphold it when it is convenient to them.

I got stopped once by a very very angry policeman, but he was tiny....he was soo small I could barely see him in the dark and the stab vest was choking him. I was doing 70 in a 30 and he was coming opposite direction he made a U turn and I slammed the breaks and pulled up immediately pre-empting his move to follow me.

he probably made an illegal u-turn, was doing 85mph + weaving in and out of lanes endangering other drivers , just to catch up to you
