I'm pretty deep into hold em. I'll go find house games and buy in and usually do pretty well. I love the movie rounders as well. if your a real texas hold'em player you have to see rounders with matt damon and edward norton. I used to watch alot of old stu ungar, johnnie chan, phil ivey. those are probably me 3 favorite players.

No, all the former "poker players" are now "cage fighters".

Prior to both they were "house flippers".

Haha heard this story so many times.

Except replace "cage fighter" instead with "used car salesman"

Brutal.

There used to be about 60 pro poker players on earth....now there are 6 million.

There used to be about 40 cage fighters.....now there are 4 million.

Almost everyone on planet earth has taken steps to flip a house.

Now everyone is either an event planner (because of Pinterest), a professional blogger, a youtube celebrity or a real estate appraiser.

Don't forget that Shizzo has posited that you can be an "internet celebrity" based on your post count on GetBig. So we are all #WINNING.

I have to admit, there was a single occasion in one gym in which I was doing my thing with the weights and I popped off the headphones for a minute and started talking to a couple of guys and they were chatting me up about "brah you're a beast" and other random chatter about drugs, supplements and online bb stuff which included GB.  They both had been on GB a few times, but didn't have an account.  I told them I've been on GB for years so they asked who I was and I told them I was Man of Steel and I have to say they were slightly impressed for about 20 seconds.  I then proceeded to savagely pummel their slight bodies mercilessly with my fists because you never speak to a GBr with such an insolent or even curious tone.

about 8 yrs ago I was playing a $15-$30 table at the Mirage I believe and a gentleman sat down next to me with a significant amount of chips. As the playing progressed it was clear he suffered from Turrets (sp) where he couldn't control what he said sometimes. He would look at his hole cards and blurt out  "Kings!" or "Jacks!" or some other pair every once in awhile. I thought he was just messing around or trying to mislead but time and again, what he initially blurted out turned out to be his hole cards. Needless to say it wasn't long before he was replenishing his chips. This continued on for awhile and I even started to feel bad about it. Finally he quit after busting out again. After he left one of the other players said he had seen him before and the same thing happened... I guess he could afford the luxury of donating his money.

Watched that movie a ton of times during my early college years when Hold 'Em and the WSOP was really catching on after Moneymaker won. My college roommate was pro player Matt Waxman who has won a few tournaments including the WPT Grand Prix Paris which was over 700K.

Anyway Algerian guy suspects somethings going on but doesn't say shit. He loses his last money and tells everyone not to go anywhere and he will be back in an hour and is just going to get more money because he wants to play to get his money back. Everyone is like no problem we will still be playing.

Anyway guy comes back with a black brief case and puts what must have something like £20,000 on the table in cash (huge fucking money for back then) AND A SAWED OFF SHOT GUN  on the table, looks at me and the turks and say's

"NOW LETS FUCKING PLAY"

So now I am fucking shitting my pants, because he suspects me and the Turks for cheating even though it had nothing to fucking do with me.

The owner of the club never got involved or said shit to anyone. Was like the fucking wild west back then.

Week later I heard from someone major fight broke out that night outside and one guy got stabbed and another guy got shot in hospital. No idea if he died or not.

Was he Alan Ford?

Funny you should say that, quite a number of cage fighters and soccer players I know are really into poker.

Its great way for them to pass the time between matches or fights as well as make some bucks.

I also think they have need for competition and mental sharpness which poker satisfies.

Every ones knows the benefits of working out and your body, but how many people actively workout their minds each day?

That's just as important. Some of the best poker minds in the game are business men or x stock market traders too.

There is a reason for that.
