The message is that the Weider-Arnold legacy of fixed contests lives on.

And I don't think that is healthy for the sport, besides being wildly immoral, and unfair to those competitors who deserve better.  Bodybuilding is very hard, and expensive, and health risking.  So for the grand prize to come down to who you know or what your image is, is a damn shame.

Based on my other post, asking who the judges were (and no one seemed to know all their names), and based on the comments on some of the other threads, it appears there is no impartial objective judging happening here.

If one of the judges is a close friend to one or more of the competitors, or has a business relationship with one of the competitors, in any other sport or business or art, this conflict-of-interest would not be tolerated.  Moreover, it appears this contest is not about who has the most muscular body, but who would be the "best" Mr Olympia public relations person, based on some powerful person's opinion.

My point is, with this corrupt judging system, what message does that send to a young, ambitious bodybuilder who wants to go all the way to the top?  That unless you're close friends with the judges, or if your persona is little bit out there (like Greene), you don't have a chance.  (Personally I think Greene has gotten a bum wrap for the grapefruit video; in the movie American Pie a straight guy fucks a cherry pie.)  So then, why should the young bodybuilder bother with bodybuilding?

Or, what message does this send if you don't speak English or are not America?  Then you're not the public relations "ideal."  Given that, Rami, or any other non-English speaking competitor, will never win no matter how good he looks.  Again, so why bother bodybuilding?

I understand there is great subjectivity in bodybuilding judging.  But, this notion of rewarding "my friend," "my business partner," "the right type," will only further limit bodybuilding to the small niche it now is.

This is sad.

Same message that the magazines, Supp companies & professional bodybuilders send when they tell you to train and take protein powders in order to "go all the way to the top"

No message to be sent here, just money to b made.... take it or leave it  its the name of this "industry"

Don't take it so serious
