Nice one Skorp.

Here's one from the house we rent in Croyde bay, last time we surfed in July

Nothing beats a long walk by secluded beaches and fresh air...especially in winter. Love it

I just wish we got a decent winter here. Very pretty... Even by Australia standards.  ;D I am having issues posting pics. It's saying my files are too big. Every now and again getbig won't allow me to post pics from my iPhone.

We know your files are too big, that's why it's so important to see them

You won't need tissues. I wanted to post a pic of an abo, my rescue puppy at the hairdressers with me and the view from my hotel when I stayed in Townsville last year.

A place I stayed at in the UAE about 3 hours away from any city...literally just desert from every angle. eerily quiet at night. Amazing spots to smoke cigars and think about life.

I would love to spend time there. The international airport was all that I experienced.

Going back next year....and I never do one place twice as I like to see new stuff all the time but this was special. The resort was so big, I had my own little indian shuffling me from site to site on the golf buggy, pool, to room to restaurant, to bar...etc.

Its strange that people pay a vast amount of money to live in a mud hut or beach cabin for two weeks when 200 metres away people live there on the breadline doing exactly the same thing.

Basic Accommodation
- Category 1
In this category you really will be going back to basics!
If you are trekking in the North of Thailand then you'll be staying in a local hill tribe hut. You'll sleep on a mattress on the floor with a mosquito net. The showers are outdoors and the bathrooms are shared. However, this gives you a real insight into the lifestyle of the hill-tribes and although basic, it truly is an experience!

Love the rooflight brother.

Good sized home also, are you pretty rural? Looks like a lot of trees around...

We live in a suburb of Portland, OR. The tree seen through the skylight is one of two large fir trees in the front yard. Our neighborhood is heavily treed.

The upstairs is a little over 1,000 sq. ft. We closed off the opening between the loft and the downstairs to achieve more privacy and reduce
sound transmission. In the bedroom, we reconfigured the space to include a walk-in closet. The attached bath is a complete redo. This is where the skylight is.

The main floor is just under 2,000 sq. ft. -Too big a house for just my wife and me. The reason for the remodel is that our daughter, her husband and our grandson are now sharing the house with us. It's a big transition for us all. So far, it is working out well.

I will post more photos when there is some progress. The drywall folks are here today. Hopefully, the hardwood floors will go in next week.

I envy your travels. Unfortunately my wife is not healthy enough for travel. I am not excited about traveling without her, although I did go to Germany in August for my granddaughter's wedding. It is great that you can afford to travel while you are young and healthy. I imagined my wife and I would be globe trotters after we retired. Instead we are homebodies. I have family all over the U.S. and Europe. It would be nice to visit them.
