Boyer had good genetics for bodybuilding, in some ways- i.e. his natural strength starting out and his cool biceps. But, of course he did use. Which, he talked about in the late 70s. At that time, he claimed that he only used juice the last 6 weeks or so before a competition. That may have been true as he was much lighter (at certain shows) than he had been earlier in his career. Now, before anyone mentions that he was heavier in the 1980 O, I already am aware, it was just that way for some shows. Boyer is one of my favorite of the classic bodybuilders from that era. He had a very unique look at that time. Zane, Boyer, Mentzer, Padilla, Corney, etc etc. all had their own unique style which made that period of time much more colorful and interesting to me. For any interested, Boyer had a big role in "Stand Tall" the Lou Ferrigno docudrama that detailed the 1994 (i believe) Master's Olympia. I actually enjoy watching that dvd more for boyer as he was a favorite and not as famous as Lou. The movie can be found on one of the Incredible Hulk tv movie sets that were released when the recent movie came out. The Trial of the Incredible Hulk is on there. Stand Tall is on the bonus features of the second disc.
