It's guys like Andy that has a chance of ever turning bodybuilding into something that is even remotely resembling mainstream. Forget about Kai's ramblings or Phil's tantrums, Andy is the man. He attends events with his family, and shows that bodybuilding can be done as a family thing.

Thinking about it, most spouses/gf's/skinny-fat men are usually turned off by bodybuilding as a sport due to the fact that it's considered an "egoistic" sport where little time is left to the family. Andy Haman goes out to promote that bodybuilding can be turned into a family thing to do, which is probably the easiest/best way of conveying the biggest demographic group, i.e. "the family".

I hope to see more people like Andy around, guys like him are needed and appreciated. Thoughts on this matter?

Competitve bodybuilding will never be mainstream and I don't mind it. Everyone should be themselves. The general public hates ped's too much. Fitness and going to the gym seems to be more popular than ever. But that's a separate entity.

If more people actually knew what competive bodybuilders did before getting onstage they would be even more appauled by it.

They dont for one minute that people are pinning multiple times a day.
Most people just think bodybuilders pop pills.

Only issue I have with Haman is his constant BS claims.

Yeah, that's the guy. Starts the video by going through a list of his achievements which include being the "strongest pro BB in the world". :-\

Yeah, he should stop that foolishness, only makes it look worse than it already is.
(The fake weights and strength claims).

Go against Johnny Jackson and/or Stan Efferding in a contest and stop he jaw flapping...

I think Stan is the strongest and his form is much cleaner than Johnny's who jumps around like a tick.

I like Andy, but why do you want BB to be more mainstream?  It's a cult activity and that's fine with me.  You don't need the approval of the mainstream to be a BB fan or participant.  Or do you?

You can never expect the "mainstream" to accept and embrace bodybuilding when even diehard fans (who own a library of muscle magazines and videos, and who participate in online forums for years) claim that they are not fans and mock the sport. ::)

Bodybuilding will never EVER be mainstream. People laugh at bodybuilders. Unless you're into this "sport" no one is going to sit home and watch a bodybuilding contest. People that see pictures of bodybuilders go, "Ewww that's gross" or "Why would anyone want to look like that?"  No average, sane person is going to get into bodybuilding like people get into basketball, baseball, football, or hockey, etc. No matter who "represents" bodybuilding, it will never happen. Bodybuilding was slightly more mainstream in the 70s, but still rather esoteric.

I sat next to Andy and his family at a restaurant in Venice after a Mr. Muscle Beach show in 2011. They were all polite, behaved and very funny. We spoke afterwards. The kids all shook my hand.
reached out their hands for a handshake and a "nice to meet your sir". His wife was gracious and genuine.

What we get from many of our Pros today is the hat on backwards or goofy hair and the attitude of "I'm bad, I'm bad" hip hop culture shit. No wonder Andy goes over big time outside of our 'community'.

Oh yeah, he's a lying piece of shit notorious for using fake weights. Real family man, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a closet pedo or some other creepy shit.

"Andy" Hamman always gave me creeps, there is something off about this guy. I can't tell what it is, but I am pretty sure of it.
