What a load if rubbish.  Was the victim in this case safer because society employed a police force?  Fuck No!  This man would have been better of in the worst of anarchistic societies, at least he would have been afforded the ability to protect himself, better yet, not have anybody force him to behave in a manner against his will.  The average citizen is negatively impacted far more by their police force and government than what they are by criminals.  I worry far more about being subjected to unwanted interference in my life more by the police or government than i do any criminal organization.
