I'll vote for whoever gets the nomination, but I think it's very unlikely we'll see another Repub in office again. The media is too biased and the general public is too dumb as a whole.
Also, the Repubs are too split - you have the Rinos who will likely get more votes from the center / independents / fed-up conservative dems, but those candidates compel the stupidly stubborn among the Repubs "stay home". And the very hard right conservative candidates are not attractive to those in the center or just to the left or right of center.
I like Romney overall - very smart man, would make a very good president IMO. But too many of the stubbornly stupid socially conservative far right who didn't learn from '12 nightmare we're now suffering through are likely to "stay home" again with anyone left of Cruz, I'd guess.
I do like Cruz overall - another very smart man who says what most others are thinking but are too scared to say. But he's way too far to the right for most people.
Whoever it is, I just wish they'd shut the hell up on gay marriage, religion, and abortion and stick to what's really important - the economy, strong national defense & foreign policy, adherence to the constitution, a smaller govt bureaucracy, paying down the debt, etc.
