You know, the permanent removal techniques.

Do a large % of athletes use this?   Or do most stick with shaving then getting a spray tan?

With the money they spend on gear and food I doubt they could afford laser on the whole body.

From what I've read and heard about laser hair removal, it takes considerable time, patience and money. Sometimes the hair keeps growing back despite laser treatments. Also, the newer treatments require you have dark hard. Hair with less pigment does not respond as well....so much for getting the white hairs off my upper back with laser.

its like 300ish a session IIRC.

a normal dude needs like 3 sessions.

worth it (no homo) for your back and/or shoulders, these areas will always be undesirable for hair.

you can get a groupon for 500 that covers 8 sessions of your back, worth it

About 15 years ago I had it done on my back and shoulders.  It was very expensive, and by far, the most painful experience I've ever endured in my life.  About one third of the hair eventually grew back.

I have a friend that tried it. It doesn't work on hairy guys. The hair is lighter but still growns back.

It works on pale skin with very dark terminal hair.  It's a permanent reduction, not a permanent removal.  The technology is always evolving so I'm sure they will eventually have something that is much more efficient and effective.  It would probably work well on a pale white guy with dark thick leg hairs.  While doing research on it myself, I came across some who had it done and said it's extremely effective and permanent but also some others who claimed it didn't work at all.  I would say if you get a decent price and do some research on a good clinic it might be worth a shot.  But don't expect to be smooth and hairless because it probably won't deliver that.  I never went through with it so I can't give say for myself unfortunately.  I did find a pretty informative website for anyone interested.  Not sure if I'm violating rules by putting it here so mods feel free to remove.  www.hairtell.com

It's not permanent.  It only slows (and lightens) the regrowth.  It still grows back.

You can find dozens of places here in South Florida that will do for $299 for six sessions (they advertise on Groupon).   The best places uses cooling/numbing gels prior to the treatment.  But they say it still stings.

I'm currently in the process of getting it done. I've done two sessions so far (out of eight). The hair has decreased by around 60% and has really thinned. I'm pleased so far but hopefully the results will last.
Agree with 6 reps regarding the pain though. It hurt like a son of bitch, far worse than waxing.

Which laser are you using?  Some say the LightSheer is the least painful.  Though one guy went to have it done on his beard and paid for the six sessions via Groupon.  Left halfway through the first one and never returned.  He said the pain on his face was horrible.  But they also warn that the face and fingers/toes are the most painful areas.
