Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 SRT
« on: September 30, 2014, 03:33:04 PM »
Always wanted to have one and finally took a test drive yesterday. What a fucking beast this thing is.
So much power, great look, plenty of space. Ideal SUV in my opinion.
Anyone owns one of these, what is your experience?

I have GC Limited right now, but SRT is a different level all together.
Checked specifications about it before and I knew it is a powerhouse but you need to drive to experience what this beauty is all about.
344 KW engine with 624Nm torque. Quite a competition to Merc 63 ML, half the price and better looking IMO.

I almost bought the original version but I didn't get the point of it.
Burns gas like crazy too.

Other than that, it's a cool vehicle...

Smart I never buy new cars that is a big waste of money when in 2 years the car is so much cheaper.

Yeah, I'd pass on it, 470 horses but it's a heavy car.  You're not going to take on porches or vettes.  It is only slightly faster than the 5.7 litre and once the novelty wears off your left with huge gas bills.

By the way I am in mid life crisis.

My job would give me a new Dodge Durango and replace it every 3 years. While not a Cherokee but they are the same company. It had a rough ride but the stiff suspension made me believe it could handle real off road stuff and it wasn't a poser off roader.  What happened to many of them were the transmissions started slipping with under 40K miles. The gas mileage was horrific. My job paid for the gas and I would never own one because of this. I liked the vehicle but if I dished out the cash to buy this new and it had transmission trouble I would be really pissed.  Incredible vehicle when the snow plow buried the vehicle. In four wheel lock where all wheels were powered it could get out of just about anything.
