31 DAYS of HORROR
« on: October 01, 2014, 05:11:22 PM »
an attempt to watch at least one horror a day through october (i didn't even realise that today is the 1st :-[) is a good enough reason to actually start watching some of these fuckers that i buy / download but never bother watching ::) so lets crack on.

Day 1
FOUND (2012) - this is fairly grim stuff. a young boy, alienated and bullied at school, with even his one and only friend turning against him, discovers that his elder brother is a serial killer when he finds the victims severed heads in his brothers bowling ball bag in the closet (this is actually revealed right from the off). far from been horrified, he likes to sneak into his brothers room and look at these heads whilst his brother is at work. we don't get to see the actual killings, the film instead focuses on the younger brother rtrying to deal with his own troubles whilst hoping that his brother doesn't catch him snooping and off him too, lol. ironically, it's the older brother who turns out to be the only person in his life he can confide in with his problems. one problem which the brother promptly deals with :D

there's not much in the way of gore. when it does come, it comes by way of a slasher film the kid and his only friend are watching on vhs, so it's very obvious that its special effects and over the top. but still, when it does come, its fucking brutal, shocking and awesome all rolled into one. plus it's the first and last time we get to see boobs.

the real terrifying stuff is saved for the end which is very intense and is well worth watching just for that alone. there's a blink and you miss it moment when there's actually a fully erect penis on full view. you'll understand how disturbing this is when seen in relation to the scene prior.

bearing in mind that this is a low budget indie. it his shot very well. the young kid actor is very good indeed, as is the chap playing his brother. the mum and dad are a bit iffy tbh, but overall most of the cast are decent.

GORE - infrequent but intense

BOOB COUNT - 1

OVERALL - 7/10

Day 2
DRACULA (2012) - argentos takes on the dracula story. this version plays more on the romance angle. though not very well it has to be said. and there's a slight twist where it's revealed that the village elders have some sort of pact with dracula, but this isn't fleshed out at all.

though it's not quite as dreadful as some reviews would suggest. it's still not good. it has the worst jonathan harker since jonathan harkers began. and that includes keanu. asia argento, although still pretty hot, is way to old to play lucy. the age gap between her and mina is so obvious it looks like she's her mother. and then there's the shitty acting and very bad asylum-esque cgi :-X

GORE - a scene when dracula fucks up a room full of people is really the only time the claret gets spilled in any quantity. the cgi is intense.

BOOB COUNT - 2 fully exposed and a not so heaving cleavage

OVERALL - 4/10

Day 3
PUPPET MASTER 3: TOULON'S REVENGE (1991) - set in germany during ww2. 'toulon's revenge' is his and his puppets murderous vengeance on the nazis after the murder of his wife by the nazis in their quest to discover the secret of toulon's living puppets. their plan is to reanimate their dead soldiers for the war effort with toulons secrets holding the key to eternal life.

easily the best of all the sequels. and perhaps the best of the whole bunch. great effects, great acting from the chap (guy rolfe (DOLLS - (1989)) playing toulon. it plays as a prequel really, with the identities of the puppets also revealed.

GORE - tunneler gruesomely fucks up a nazi or two

BOOB COUNT - 3 pairs of naturals and 1 boob job (plastic tits in nazi germany ???)

OVERALL - 7/10

PARASITE (1982) - i can imagine that this would have been a lot more enjoyable if viewed how it was intended to be in it's original 3d. it's not much cop to be honest. really only notable as an early demi moore feature. it would have helped if it was at least explained why this deadly parasite was created and why the world was in the post apocalyptic state it was in.

i suspect this was made purely to show off the 3d effects and nothing else

GORE - a couple of obviously alien inspired head, not chest, burst.

BOOB COUNT - 1

OVERALL - 4/10

DAY 4
SPLINTER (2008)
- an escaped convict and his two captives are trapped in an isolated petrol station under attack by a weird, alien like parasitic like creature, that infects the inflicted with what look like agonising splinter spines. a basically a THE THING remake on a budget. its pretty good though.

DAY 5
VAMPYR (1932)
- a simple tale told of a family under a vampire curse. eerie with a dreamlike atmosphere of dread topped a fantastic, foreboding score.

DAY 6
DRACULA (1931)
- not much more well know lugosi DRACULA. this is the spanish version shot at the same time using the same sets and more or less the same script. obviously lugosi is the better dracula of the two. but apart from that, i would say that this spanish version is infact the better version.

DAY 7
JUG FACE (2013)
- a backwoods community worships some entity that dwells down a pit. entity demands human sacrifice. the chosen victim doesn't particularly want to die, plus she preggers which is a big no-no. especially when you've been fucking your brother and he's the father. the pit kills innocents until its appeased or the righful sacrifice comes forward. i won't spoil the rest, but it's an interesting story and worth a watch.

DAY 8
DON'T GO TO SLEEP (1982)
- made for tv movie with quite a cast. dennis weaver, valerie harper, ruth gordon playing a cantankerous old biddy mother-in-law. even the child actors (robin ignico & oliver robins) are very well known. this was a well made, well acted but rather bland story of family breakdown after the death of the eldest daughter. we see her come back as a ghost visiting her sister and plot to off the rest of the family. sxcary stuff when i was younger. not so much now.

Some suggestions: Sleepaway Camp, Night of The Demons, The Gate. Oh and I don't know if it's out yet, but the trailer for Wer looked awesome. Almost a borderline action movie.

DAY 9
THE STUFF (1985)
- starts of with some old fella walking through the the grounds of the industrial company he works for, where he happens to notice some white goo oozing through the snow covered ground. curious, he stops to investigate by sticking his fingers in said 'goo', and proceeds to eat it (like you would). it taste great, so he calls over a passing collegue to try some of this great tasting goo of unknown origin that's bubbling up from the earth. yes, you guessed it, he then inexplicably eats the goo from his mates fingers after about two seconds of coaxing. he point blank refused to eat snow would had no qualms about eating strange, bubbling shit off the floor.

fast forward some weeks/months, and 'the goo' is now 'the stuff' and is the latest must have, must eat, craze. not everyone is convinced though. one young chap, after see 'the stuff' moving about in his fridge, not to mention his whole family total absession with it, refuses to partake and runs off to the local supermarket to smash up as much of 'the stuff' as he can. he later becomes part of the team that goes on to foil the wicked plans 'the stuff' has to take over the world.

enter our unwitting hero, david 'mo' rutherford (michael moriarty the star of TROLL), brought in by rival ice cream companies to find out and steal the secret recipe of 'the stuff'. little do they know...haha! i mean, this fella is so fucking cool that he sweet talks the knickers down off the milf who is in running the advertising campaign for 'the stuff' and she then becomes his ally. then later on, he gets into a fist fight with 'chocolate chip charlie'. who after kicking choc chips arse, they too become allies in exposing the secret of 'the stuff'.

just when you think shit couldn't get anymore crazy. up pops the great paul sorvino (colonel malcolm grommett spears) the leader of a group of anti communist militia, just in time to assist our heroes an all out assault against 'the stuff' and 'the stuffies'. the end.. phew!!

ZOMBIE DEATH HOUSE (1987) - jonh saxon's (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, TENEBRE, ENTER THE DRAGON) directorial debut. infact, it would be his first and last time directing which will be come as no surprise after watching this effort . anyroad, despite the title. please don't expect to see any zombies in this here filum. there's no zombies as such. what we get is a hilarious bad story about a vietnam vet who ends up working for a mob boss as his driver who ends up fucking the mob boss' wife on the side. the mob boss has his suspicions and ends up killing his wife and frame his driver for the murder, for which he is sentenced to death for.

in prison there's some sort of voluntary behavioural control experiment (this is important later on) going on with some of the inmates. this is legit but the person behind the experiments, colonel gordon burgess (saxon), wants to up the ante with a new experiment that will result in total mind control and mega strength to create the ultimate, super soldier. after the doctor running the original experment refuses to help. the colonel enlist the help of a bent (we see him fuck an inmate later on) warder to inject the death row inmates and monitor the results.

after the warden injects the first prisoner, it doesn't take long before he takes ill and go beserk fucking up loads of prison guards with his super strength. he is eventually overcome and strapped down on the infirmary bed. the prison preist goes to visit him, which leads to him getting infected, which leads on with him infecting the bulk of the prisoners when his nose bleeds into the communion wine at christmas mass which happens to be attended by the warden and his family. but this all happens later on.

meanwhile, with results from the first prisoner going as expected, the colonel wants to try again on another deathrow prisoner. which results in him actually breaking free from the electric chair and go on a rampage.

meanwhile, the inmates accidentally infected with the communion wine start getting zombie like which leads to the prisoners not infected rioting (lead by our 'nam hero) and taking over the prison holding the warders family hostage.

all shit gets out of hand, and the colonel brings in another doctor to try and sort the situation. she's a hot blonde and the way the way saxon chisels in a totally out of the blue nude scene of her is absolutely hilarious. so she realises that all is fucked and she's been well and truly stitched up by the colonel on this one. she can't possibly find a cure until its 'discovered' that the prisoners from the original experiment are immune from the virus. she concludes that the potion they were given (a milder version of the zombie virus stuff) will give them protection from the virus and she'll be let out. the colonel id having none of this though. he decided that the best course of action is to blow the prison and all inside to smithereens.

so she shares what's left of the original potion to the two kids, 'nam and herself. leaving barely enough for her camera man (yeah, she had a news camera man working with her). she gives a convicted murderer a cure but her friend and collgue. he later ends up fucked as you might have guessed.

oh, i forgot to mention that the colonel also gets the mob boss to go in to the prison (his brother happens to be in prison running shit with his twink boyfriend) to persuade the rioters to stop. that ends well. just like this film, lol.

this film is a complete turkey with bad acting and a terrible script and directing. but it does have tits and plenty of gore and is entertaining enough for me to have watched a few times 8)

look out for rorion gracie

DAY 10
DEADLY FRIEND (1986)
- a new kid moves into town with his mother and the robot (bb) he has built himself. it's quickly established that this robot has a nasty side when it nearly kills some chap trying to break into the family vw van whilst the mother and son are in the service station. the kid is a genius and is conveniently good with matters concerning the human brain. he quickly befriends a local lad and the hot girl next door. the fun doesn't last to long when firstly, the nasty old bag over the road blows his robot, bb, to pieces with her double barrel shotgun. then secondly, his girlfriend dies after she is slapped and punched by her abusive dad, which sends her flying down the stairs, smacking her head hard sending her into a coma from which she won't recover. the boy genius steals his girlfriends body from the hospital then inserts bb's microchip (it's not so micro its bastard huge. 80s micro, lol) brain in to her brain. his madcap idea works but all is not well as the human/robot hybrid go on a killing vengeful spree before she is ultimately gunned down by the police.

i haven't seen this since maybe it was first released on video. i enjoyed it. it's like an 80s kid film with some brutal kill scenes added. the scene when the father abuses his daughter is brutal as fuck. when he eventually gets his comeuppance, it's quite savage and gory. the old lady gets her head exploded with the lass smashes a basketball in her face.

when she does that with her fingers it indicates that bb is running shit

these days nice n thick. yummy!!

JESSICKA RABID (2010) - i only stuck with watching this on the promise of seeing the magnificent tits of low rent, scream queen elske mccain, which are displayed all to few times for my liking, and the prospect of tons of gory violence. i was mainly bored and kept nodding off.

a white trash family keep their retarded cousin as a pet dog. she thinks and acts like a dog. she gets abused, raped, and sold to make porn films. even her female cousin abuses her and has cock throbbing lesbian sex (well once, and we don't see much) with her by enticing her to lick her lady bits by smearing them with peanut butter.

to cut a long boring story short. she gets bit by a dog and contracts rabies. then after she is raped again by some family friend, she kills him then goes on a killing spree after first filing her teeth down to sharp points and wasting her shit family. though her female cousin was hot.

mccain is batshit crazy but has great tits and is trailer park hot. the things she would say on facebook made me surprised that the men in white coats never came and took her away in a van with square wheels.

looking rough and skinny these days.

DAY 11
THE PURGE: ANARCHY (2014)
- i read a few times that the sequel is better than the original. these people weren't lying. this was excellent. sergeant (frank grillo) was a total badass when having unexpectedly ending up having to protect a group of people caught outdoors during the purge whilst on his way to do some peronal purging of his own.

i liked the first, i loved this. great popcorn fodder.

THE FOG (1980) -  great atmosphere, great suspense and ghost which were creepy and not cgi. looked and sounded great on blu too., with carpenters awesome score crisp and clear. excellent ghost story.

DAY 12
OCULUS (2013)
- haunted mirror horror. absolutely first rate. total mind fuck of a movie skillfully blending thepast with the present, real and fantasy. it's the second time we've watched it and it holds up to repeat viewings in my opinion. 9/10

DAY 13
RABID (1977)
- after being badly hurt in a motorcycle accident. a woman (marylin chambers) undergoes emergency skin grafts at a nearby cosmetic clinic. the procedure she undergoes is experimental and for reasons i cannot fathom this leads her to develop a vampiric, phallic like organ that emerges from a hole in her armpit and a thirst for human blood. after attacking her victims, they develop a rabies like infection which turns them into frothing mouthed, blood crazed zombie like creatures, attacking and infecting anyone they can get their teeth in to. this leads to a city (montreal) wide epidemic so bad that martial law is put into place.

DAY 14
DARK HOUSE (2014)
- this is no JEEPERS CREEPERS that's for sure. it's not especially terrible. just nothing new or fresh in this tale of good v evil, battling to keep satan, who is trapped in the cellar of an abandoned house, from walking the earth. catch it on the the horror channel or whatever, just don't pay to see it. 6/10

KILL, BABY… KILL! (1966) - bava's wonderful use of colour and striking camera angles, makes this is a beautiful, but chilling gothic supernatural horror story. a ghostly little girl haunts an isolated village, which is beset with neglect, decay and gloom, sent chills down my spine when her ghostly face peers through windows staring coldly at her next unwitting victim as seeing her is a precursor to a bloody and grisly death by their own hand as a dreadful curse is played out over and over again. 9/10

DAY 15
ABCs OF DEATH 2 (2014)
- 26 short films, one for each letter of the alphabet, from 25 horror film directors. unlike the first ABCs OF DEATH, there were no really standout shockers in this sequel. it was still very good mind, with only one or two duds but with quite a bit more humour this time around. there was still plenty of moments of gore though. my favourite was D which is a really surreal animation. don't worry, i'm not spoilering, but a story concerning bath salts (not B, btw) is particularly fucking hilarious. i only managed to guess the titles of two of the segments. R which was pretty bleedin' obvious, and X which was a wild guess before the piece even started. 7/10

DAY 16
THE GHOST GALLEON (El Buque maldito) (1974)
- when a mind boggling stupid publicity stunt goes wrong and two beautiful fashion models are lost at sea. an ill-fated mission is underway to rescue the girls from a mythical ghost ship it is thought they are on. the ship is soon found, or it finds them, and they climb on board the vessel that is constantly shrouded in a very creepy, thick fog. after searching for a while, the rescuers decided its time for a kip in what must be the creepiest place ever. well except one lass (the lesbian lover of one of the missing models), she decides to do some further searching deep in the bowels of the ship. in the dark, all on her lonesome. its there that she meets the ships crew of shuffling, mummified corpses who proceed to tear her throat out and feast on her blood. later, the others awaken and continue there search for the missing girls (i don't think that they realise that there's another lass missing) when they discover a secret room with devil worshiping paraphernalia and the knights templar hidden loot. our group fight off a first attack from the demon knights when one quick thinking member of the group fashion a crucifix from parts  of the ship and sets it on fire which repels the flesh eating ghouls back below deck. realising they haven't much time left before nightfall (fuck knows what they were doing all day long) comes again in about one hour. they throw the templars coffins overboard into the sea. time to get of the boat. three of the group dive overboard, one ladden with gold, so as to swim to the nearby shore. but they fight amongst themselves over the gold which is making them sink. one chap tries to drown his boss so the milf stabs him in the back.. dead! meanwhile, the fella left onboard the galleon is overcome with smoke as the ship spontaneously combust, burns and sinks. the two survivors make it to shore. exhausted, they don't notice the templar zombies rise from the sea and slowly shuffle towards them. when they do eventually notice, then it's way to late! very creepy, some gore, great ending, no titties despite teasing us with lesbian love and ghouls 10000 times more creepy than any cgi creepy could ever be. 7/10

DAY 17
FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2
- of course not anywhere near as good as the original, which is an 80 horror masterpiece, imo. this is still a fun time and a cut above a lot of horror sequels. it's great to see peter vincent and charley brewster back battling the blood suckers. but also in this episode, they really ramped up the eye candy with the introduction of traci lind as brewsters bird. and the smouldering, sultry beauty that is julie carmen, playing the vengeful vampire temptress out to make charlie one of the undead like herself so that she can torture him for eternity in revenge for killing her brother, the main vamp from the first film. 7/10

DAY 18
MOTEL HELL (1980)
- farmer vincent runs MOTEL HELLO with his fat sister ida. he is famed locally for his smoked meats. what makes farmer vincents smoked meats so sweet is that it's made from human meat. human meat farmed in farmer vincents secret garden. he keeps his garden stock supplied from passing motorist he catches in his traps that he lays on the nearby main road. all is going well until the day farmer vincent brings home a girl caught, along with her boyfriend, in one of his road traps. the boyfriend gets planted in the secret garden, the girl took home to recover to be later used as help around the house. recover she does, and fall in love they eventually do. a hasty wedding is planned as it would be sinful to fuck out of wedlock. this doesn't please ida or farmer vincents bother who happens to be the local sheriff with the hots for the blonde beauty. shit is about to hit the fan.. 8/10

DAY 19
WOLF CREEK 2
- tourist killing, aussie psycho maniac, mick taylor, is back doing what he does best, slaughtering hapless backpackers. a goretastic 8/10

DAY 20
WRONG TURN 6 (2014)
- this couldn't finish quick enough once brit soap babe roxy pallett had got her jugs out. 3/10

DAY 21
SKEETER (1993)
- giant mosquito creature feature. toxic waste is dumped in an old mineshaft in an isolated desert town. waste leaks, spawns giant, deadly mozzies which start killing off the townsfolk. it's shit. 4/10

DAY 22
ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS 2 (ZOMBI 3) (1988)
- terrorist attack a military, scientific installation to steal a top secret germ warfare chemical agent. it fails and one of the terrorist escapes with the secret formula but the dozy twat manages to contaminate himself. he makes it to a hotel and infects a few people. the military track him down and kill everyone there and buries them in a mass grave. they bring the terrorist body back to the base and incinerate his body sending a cloud of infected fumes up into the atmosphere. the cloud infects a flock of birds, who then attack humans passing on the infection. shit really starts to go down as the infected turn into blood crazed, flesh eating zombies attacking anyone in sight. a few survivors band together to fight of both the zombies and the military who have a shoot to kill policy on anything that moves. will they survive??!!

there's some great action in this one and also a really great score that plays throughout the film 7/10

DAY 23
THE WEREWOLF VERSUS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN (1977)
- two babes are searching the countryside for the lost tomb of legendary vampire who also happens to be a babe. they bump into a chap (paul naschy), who happens to be a werewolf, who says he can assist them in their search if they come and stay with him. they find the tomb and open it. the lass removes the crucifix from the vampires chest and cuts herself in the process. blood drips into the vampires mouth. the vampire rises later that night and comes for the hottest babe (who wouldn't). the chap had hidden motives for helping the girls. he needs the crucifix to be used on himself to cure him once and for all of a werewolf curse. the crucifix dagger must be driven into his heart by a woman who loves him. coincidentally, the other babe has fallen madly in love with him despite only knowing him a couple of days and her already having a boyfriend who comes searching for her. you can probably guess the rest. 5/10

DAY 24
NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS (1975)
- the final film in the blind collection. the dialogue can seem a bit corny at times, but i put that down to the poor dubbing. or maybe not!! 6/10

DAY 25
THE ADDICTION (1995)
- abel ferrara's unique and interesting take on vampirism with its not so subtle drug use / addiction analogy. 8/10 despite my dvds poor picture quality.. filmed in b&w, it should really have looked at least very good, if not stunning.

DAY 26
COOKERS (2001)
- meth horror. it's very good despite its tiny budget. 7/10

DAY27
THE CREEPING FLESH (1973)
- horror legends, christopher lee and peter cushing along with a great big, evil skeleton. 6/10

DAY 28
RETURN TO SALEM'S LOT (1987)
- about the only things this 'sequel' has in common with the original are the name 'salem's lot' and the fact that it has vampires in it. though these vampires are about as frightening as your nan. they certainly looked older than your nan. however, we do get michael moriarty, which is always good for a laugh. and a couple of good shots of tara reids lovely tits. what's not to like? 5/10

DAY 29
INTRUDER (1989)
- slasher set in a supermarket. great kills and a twist you'll probably see coming a mile off but it doesn't spoil the fun. 7/10

DAY 30
THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN (2014)
- great kills. tits with a great fuck scene thrown in for good measure. very clever how they interwove this with the original. we liked it quite a bit. a very solid slasher, 9/10. may have been a 10 if the main girl had got her great looking boobies out . just for the record though, i do think that the phantom from the original film was better. that fucker looked very disturbed

DAY 31
HALLOWEEN (2007)
- rob zombies remake gets better with each viewing. i didn't particuarly like it at first, constantly comparing it to carpenters superb original. but, if you can put that from your mind and give zombies effort a chance, it really is very good. mind you, having said that.. i still find the scene with laurie strode finger fucking the bagel really quite out of character and the one misstep of zombies version. still, it gets an 8/10 from me. oh, and tyler mane is just fucking awesome as michael myers !!

well that soon flew by. wish i planned it a little better instead of just grabbing what was nearby so to speak. i wanted to get more unwatched stuff in and one or two silent era cinema stuff in. ah well.. maybe next time!!

Epic list, I'll check some of these movies out.

Going for a splatter/horror binge marathon next weekend.

i guess its time for some more horror fun 8)

31 DAYS of HORROR (2015)

DAY 1
HAUNTED (1995)

haunted house mystery with kate beckinsale. nothing great but its not bad i guess. some of the effects were fairly naff though, tbh. one scene in particular looked like it was taken from a-ha's, take on me, video.

the twist you can see coming from a mile off, and has been done before and since much more better and believable than this.

i hqave to say that beckinsale looks absolutely delicious in this. milk white skin, full and luscious red lips and her posh accent helps make this worth sticking to until the end. 2/5 there's quite a bit of nudity but its a rather obvious body double i'm afraid.
