lol awesome thread.
did this one last week.
was riding single track w two buddies. I'm in front and hear them behind me. were all equal riders so I'm pushing the pace. roller coastery stuff w very technical sections. we're decending switchbacks and the last one I can see a corner ahead is a high berm so I take it high to come off fast. problem is I'm going too fast. I can't roll out of the corner in time hit soft loam on the shoulder my bars cranked and I went right over, came unckipped and somehow my pedal came back and struck my shin.
I got up growling and grinding my teeth. fuck it hurt.
turns out I have a hairline fracture of my tibia and the tissue on my shin is still numb I'm thinking there's nerve damage as well. doesn't look like much but that shin was twice the size of my other one by the time we had done riding.
second pic is snakebite from when I using using flats and my pedal came around and gouged my calf when I again went over the bars on an incline I had no business taking lightly.
I still have scars on my arm from forearm rash from a bad one a couple months ago.
if your not falling off you'll never find your boundaries.
I avoid all this daredevilism.
At my age I dont want any debilitating injuries, I might never recover.
Im like an old guy that breaks his hip and loses all independance.
