GTA IV was very good. Much more realistic dynamics.
GTA V was pretty shit I thought since it went back to the cartoony, OTT feel.

GTA games in general are over rated imo. Enjoyable but not on par with the likes of Uncharted, The Last of Us etc. Most of the time I just prefer playing COD and FIFA though.
