I don't remember how they were condition wise, did Garrett beat him from the back? Garrett went on to have a better pro career. Tevita had better abs, Garrett had that big chest and arms look. Both were about the same when it came to legs.

Yeah, Garrett was thickly built, he also had that weird muskrat haircut, looked like he was wearing a rodent on top of his head. He was ex military.

I just so happened to be in the audience that night. As I recall, I thought he got beat by Melvin Anthony (who had a great posing routine, very Michael Jackson-like, very robotic).

And as I recall that night, right after Anthony's routine, Jim Manion got up and went rushing back stage. And then just as they were about to award the title to Anthony, Paul Dillett stood up in the audience and walked out. I guess so that everybody there could see him.

Ha, Melvin won outright in 99, I could even have seen him beat Dennis James in 98, I think was the first and only tie (then tie breaker) in NPC history.
