But for an awake experience, I'd say do a comedy like Bad Neighbours (if you have kids) or Tropical Thunder if you have not seen it.

Sorry it's just opinons but that movie was the worst crap I've seen in years (especially with regards to being so star studded).

It was a bit slow but it was a subtle movie about a not so subtle subject.
The phone call Fassbender makes to the "boss" to try and sort out his problem is to me an explanation of why the guys just sit down and accept getting their heads chainsawed off in the online videos.

If you like Guy Pearce, he fully carried The Rover and Breathe In.  Calvary was damn good but it may make you feel like a depressed irishman.  For offbeat weird I liked Jake Gyllenhaal's Enemy a lot.  For completely off the scale weird there's Scarlett's Under The Skin, which was more weird than good.  Depp's Transcendence is recommended if you're after something less emotional and more headscratchy/blockbustery, although I might not have cast the annoying guy who is always annoying and the wise old afro who is always the wise old afro.  Grand Budapest Hotel is a hell of a lot of fun.  HTH.

I actually turned it off in the beginning - during that painfully protracted and totally unnecessary "love making scene". It's probably better after that but it was just too f*ckin silly imo.
