we started training the same year Coach.    here is me in 79  or 80 at 15 years old.    damn, we had the same hairstyle!!

I find it odd that the OP cannot definitively recognize a picture of his 15 year-old self.

Yes, what other 15 yo kid would be schmoeing it up at that age.

I was there when this picture was taken as with the other famous Golds picture similar to this one. I am about 90% sure the kid standing on the inside looking out between Bill Grant and Kent Keune (sp) is me. I was 15 then..

I would guess that there was hundreds of pics taken that day.   coach has stated for years that he was there that day.  so he is probably just throwing in a disclaimer in case it turns out it was not him in that particular pic.

either way, he is a lucky bastard to have been able to train there during that era.

I think there is another photo that must have been taken on the same day because I'm pretty sure Peter and David Paul were in one of those photos and Ray Menzter too.    Mike Mentzer looks crazy in that picture
