And not every RD is some supposed chump in working in healthcare.

IFBB pro Chris Tuttle is an RD who knows what he's talking about.

Does the average Get Bigger know a lick about foodservice management, community nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition metabolism, biochemistry, and parenteral and enteral nutrition, more so than the average RD? I don't say this to be sarcastic, but to say that some forum poster knows more than an RD about OUR field is asinine. If they did know enough, I guess they'd be competent to work in a medical institution considering their knowledge would supposedly make them competent in the application of medical nutrition, or even sports nutrition.

I don't appreciate the obnoxious comment about being an RD in a skilled nursing facility being as easy as serving mashed potatoes and vegetables (which I don't considering I am not a foodservice worker), but to answer someone's question about pay, I make 80k per year salary, plus the little side things I do in writing diets for individuals. Certainly not rich, but I live a satisfying middle class nonetheless and am aiming to move up the ladder by becoming a foodservice director RD (can make low six figures in that position) perhaps but definitely am aiming to transition to become a licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) in the future and plan on taking three or four of the courses I need to take, going through the administrator-in-training (AIT) period  (which can be shortened greatly for me because of my previous department head experience). Average pay for nursing home admins in NYC or LI is 130 to 160K, with some corporations or sole owners paying higher, plus perks. Of course a nursing home admin does not work as RD, but many allied health professionals such as RD's, RN's, PT's, have made the transition.

This veered off topic but I am answering with my experience and personal goals.

Fuck off

Nutritionists don`t even know how to cook.  Not only that, most are clueless when it comes to anything food related and tend to demonize food not basing their bias on any science whatsoever.

Morons, the lot of them.

Prunes and Geritol thrice daily.

You don't deserve a penny over $12K/yr.

Why not?

I knew consistent training is more important than nutrition, but mineral/vitamin deficiency is no joke. And I won't risk my health just counting protein. Ofc not everyone has a extreme eating habit, except simpleton Anabolichalo. I think dietician just knows everything what we have to google  :D

Okay good, then you will agree that someone could easily eat solely fast food their entire life and have a better health profile than some organic moron seeking out GMO free foods.

I am a Certified Nutritionist in the State of California, working slowly on a degree in Dietetics....

Most of what I learned came from years and years of experience and study of medical journals, controlled studies, and especially empirical data.

There is a lot to know... more than one can imagine.

I wonder how many people here actually know right off the top of their heads which macro is by far the most complex? Gonna say Carbs?

Once you learn dietetics, you have something else to learn, which also takes years and years on nearly non-existent studies. It's mostly empirical data, and for good reason: Pharmacology

If you want to work in the bodybuilding field as a dietitian, you have to know your P.E.D.'s... ALL of them.

As a general R.D, you still have to know your Pharma... big time (no pun intended, but "big" is big either way)

Everyone is on something whether it's by your choice or a doc's....

A registered dietitian who holds his (or her) own in the field of fitness deserves mad respect.

Now, do you think Hany Rambo is an R.D?

George Farah?

Milos Sarcev?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

Is it what you know or what credentials you possess?

As an RD myself (MPH, RDN actually) I have found that the profession, as a whole,  is populated with individuals that love food, like helping people, and are interested in "diets" up to a point. There is so much I agree with TA concerning guilt over food choices (reaks havoc on hormones) and the wrong emphasis on monomacros (limiting any macro is a mistake).
But, there is a problem with the premise of the question. The problem assumes the person eating fast food doesn't overeat or commit other dietary abuses concerning sugar, salt, and fat, this versus an organic diet that has organic chips, cookies, grain-based desserts, and commits the aforementioned abuses. Looking at epi-studies, the majority of health benefits come about due to weight loss, not macro makeup, mononutrient emphassis, or new "Superfood" inclusion.
Lastly, one major  problem with TA 's argument has nothing to do with his argument, it is that he has a really good physique, so some credence is lent to his position. He has control over his behavior which is the main problem with how all diets fail or work. Behavior change! TA, I have been assuming, can put the fork down after 10 bites and the majority of people will go to bite 20.

my wife is an RD.

Basically people don't like to listen to RD's and the profession is shit on daily because an RD's opinion is based on SCIENCE.  and the people who dismiss them as ignorant are people whose opinions are NOT BASED ON SCIENCE, but rather anecdotes, articles on the internet from the "food babe" or Dr. Oz.  my wife hears more bro science every day than any getbigger ever has.  and these people are ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE THAT THEY ARE CORRECT.

I've come to believe that people just simply believe what they want to believe: what's convenient for them to believe.  It's funny how many people will mock and ridicule people all day for not believing the scientific consensus surrounding global warming but will patently dismiss the fact that there is currently scientific consensus regarding the safety of GMO's.  they will talk non stop about hormones in milk and how "those hormones should not go into your body!!!!", yet not bat an eye about ingesting synthetic progesterone every day for 3 weeks out of every month for years and years.  because they want to talk down to everyone at the family barbecue about what they're eating, but they still want to go out that night and fuck without a condom.

The funny thing is though, he is going to keep getting beat by dudes who don`t even know a carbohydrate from a mineral despite being an "expert" in his field.

Mostly No.
I can see this.

My wife took a couple nutrition courses as part of her college curriculum and the stuff they were teaching had next to nothing to do with physique/athletic/BB nutrition and was all old school nutritional ideas on eating for "health".

Yes.

BareBackSchmekel does seem like the kind of guy that prefers to source the majority of his protein from "biological" sources (directly from the tap).
