Practice throwing punches regularly and continually work on your technique.

I think that you can improve with hard training and commitment over a long period with specific exercises/training, but it's mostly genetic... George Foreman is freakiest genetic marvel in the history of heavyweight boxing, if not in boxing overall, and for sure one of in history of sports...

One must know and master his own chi and harness it into his fists for optimal destructive face-breaker punches.

George Foreman took his BCAAs, whey isolate powder, and EFAs religiously.

The biggest trick is knowing how to coordinate as much of your body as possible.

You want every muscle group in your body aiding in the final impulse before you make contact.

Your peak force happens in different time frames depending on the body part.

You need to know which muscle parts start when.

It's like trying to get multiple people to hit the same point at the exact same time, while having very different arm and leg lengths, reaction times and body weights.

Your muscles produce force on a curve, you need multiple curves of different length peaking at the same point in time and space.

But anyways genetics gives an amazing advantage in this.

I could be wrong, but you  got this thing called motor neurons or some shit in your arms.

Anyways they are like on switches for your muscles, kinda like taste buds. The more motor neurons per muscle the more degrees of usage you have(better coordination)

Anyhow the ratio of motor neurons can in the end define how well your bicep tricep, forearm, abs, delts, etc can work together.

Genetic, guy on my football team in college weighed like 180 but he hit the hardest by far. He just naturally had the ability to use his whole body to deliver a shot. He almost killed a player on the other team he got his helmet under the kids chin. They had to cart the poor kid off the field. His football career was over forever.

Mostly genetics. Same reason a 5'8" 150 pound guy can throw a baseball 100 mph from 60'6" away while a 6'4" 240 jacked up dude can't break 75 mph from the same distance.

Flintstones throws at 110 mph.

No way. 102 max I say.  He could probably only play for a shitty team like the Tigers and barely make the All Star team.

Technique... of course, but most heavy hitters hands were huge.

Foreman, Frasier, Shavers, Norton, Holmes, Liston... they all had fists like sledgehammers.

Like has already been said - punchers are born

Not all are extremely big guys with huge hands, but it helps

Marciano, Dempsey, Duran, Hearns  all had bone crunching power, but not real big guys, just "had it", with obvious technique for sure

Not to mention Tyson who was tiny for a heavyweight but devastating. I think the "born" is true too, i can't remember a single boxer who didn't start with knock out power then gained it later in their career.

1) Genetics.  Limb proportions, coordination among the limbs, muscle fiber composition, etc.

2) Technique.  Practice makes the motion more efficient, maximizing power

Keep in mind, knockout punches are about placement & power.  Hit somebody in just the right spot, and it wont take much power to drop em
