Bob Bruce promoted the Mr Southern Hemisphere contest. Just before the contest he changed the name to Mr Southern Universe. Arnold was the guest poser. Frank Colombera won and Paul Graham was second. That was how those two placed in the 1972 Mr Australia. Paul never won that title but claimed to be Mr Australia when he wrestled overseas. He won two body part awards in that contest: best arms and best chest. When he wrestled in Sydney years later somehow things got confused and some announcers believed Paul won the Mr Universe title twice! Nope, he won two awards in a Mr Southern Universe contest.
Arnold lived with Paul Graham, Bob Bruce and Ken Moran in LA in 1968 after arriving in America. According to his autobiography, Arnold drove cars to a dock in LA for Paul. Those cars were headed for Australia. In February 1969 Paul was arrested in Honolulu by the FBI for sending stolen cars to Australia and spent two years in prison in California. Ken Moran fled to Vancouver with a Shelby Cobra Mustang and trained at Western Gym. He took that red Ford back to New Zealand. Ah, the good old days.
