do u think if my son says i yell at him cause he aint learning wrestling moves would that be considered a parent who cant control his temper?or when hes not concentrating on homework i get mad also,i dont flip out or scream but he sees me get mad and sometimes i yell tho,but i catch myself and start helping him again.
You have to be yourself. There's lots of advice for parents available. Take it with a grain of salt, not that it is bad advice, but every situation is just a little different.
If you can avoid yelling at your son, do that. It probably doesn't accomplish much anyway. You can simply express that you know he can do better.
If you can learn to encourage your son by complimenting him when he does well at something, you will do more for him than you could ever do criticizing him or worse yelling at him. Let him fall every now and then. We often learn more by making mistakes then we do always getting things right.
I suspect you learned a lot from your past mistakes from what you've posted here.
