Every girlfriend I've had was the result of interactions had in places decidedly NOT bars and clubs. At school ... in the gym ... while working security in a bank (she was a customer) ... a friend of a friend ... etc.

It's called striking up a conversation with someone towards whom you are attracted and want to perhaps pursue further interactions. There's nothing harassing about it, provided it's done with shown respect and a willingness to let it go if that individual doesn't express equal motivation.

I've even had successful introductions to eventual dates while walking the streets! Can you imagine?!  

It goes like this. If you're a creep, you are a creep. If you are not, you're not.

People like Hulkotron are likely creeps who have become accustomed to a very narrow window through which to make plays for the opposite sex. Anywhere NOT serving alcohol and with a certain expectation of wanton flirtation proves too dangerous for them, as without dimmed and/or flashing lights and masses of inebriated duds, they get tagged as such in a heartbeat. The Creep Factor is too strong.

Their learning curve at a young age had them come to accept that females in the bright sun of sober reality see them as greasy cheeseballs to be avoided.

Guess "the city" is very unique this way then. I often say hello, but not just to attractive folks. Anyone. And I'm always "just saying hello," being friendly is all. Pretty much always get one back, too. If not, fuck 'em.

They were selective in the neighborhoods. Most of the footage (90% of it) took place in Harlem on 125th street near surrounding the 1-2 blocks around the Apollo theater. They also did a good number of runs by 42nd street and 8th avenue by the Port Authority.

Any New York'er will tell you that those two particular areas are filled with everything from drug dealers, drug addicts, pimps and homeless men.

If the same broad were to walk down 5th avenue from 59th street all the way down to the village, she might get one or two cat calls IF she is lucky.

Heck, send a fucking whale down 125th street between Lexington Avenue and Amsterdam avenue and she will get easily 20-30 men giving her compliments.
