Platz is about 5'4-5'5".  Looking at the picture of him standing next to Platz above, no way he is 5'11".  Listed at 5'10"... in Stallone shoe lifts maybe.

Platz is not 5'4

it started with "pain pills" and Nubain (hell we were all trying it back in the early 1990's/guys would give them to you for free....wasn't so pretty once you got "hooked") it was supposed to numb the pain/let you train heavier % longer, lost a few friends to that (including Paul)  ....he was a good "clean-cut kid",just kina happened

Lots of high quality physiques back then.  The top 3 guys have enough talent to do well individually as pros.  Today, you're lucky to find one potential 2nd tier pro in the whole show!

What happened?   ???

saw paul at the Olympia not long before he died. we were both kicking painkillers at the time (me nubain/torbugesic and him oxy and morphine). he was big still, maybe around 240/250, I didn't ask, and he was gonna compete in the next year. I thought it was "cool", and unfortunate that we had something in common.. we exchanged emails and ended the conversation with him saying "good luck" and I said I appreciated it. he seemed lonely and kinda down, like he didn't really want to be there (at the O) and seemed glad to be talking to somebody. I would've hung out and bullshited with him longer but my ex was getting bored and hungry just standing there waiting for me. I really thought things were gonna be fine for him. thought he'd kick just like I me, and that he'd get back to "normal"... training, competing, etc, like I had. never did email him, and the next I heard of him, he was dead of a heroin overdose. I couldn't believe it... I really thought he'd get off the shit just like I did.

yea man jeff king was second to none in legs, monster quads and calves, king was a true animal

the 2nd pic is part of the reason I wanted to be a bodybuilder.

that pic was used in the "sterioid" edition of a series of books on drugs that was in my elementary school library. I remember seeing that picture and thinking "holy shit.. that's awesome", and then showing the girls (I believe I was in the 2nd or 3rd grade) and the girls would do all the "eewwwww... oh my god that's so gross!!! why would you want to look like that?!!??" bullshit that you'd expect from 8-9yr old girls. lol

that shit brings back memories...

--- I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the link.. thought we were just supposed to delete the "s" in https... whatever. Someone set my ass straight

Sick-ass quads... or "quad-sweep" I should say....wonder how his legs stood up (no pun intended) against Plat'z??

You deleted the colon : as well, that's why it didn't work.
