Arnold is numero uno for a reason. Others have more Olympia wins that's true but none have his charisma, style, class and his ability to have any faults, real or imagined overlooked, no...make that overshadowed by his persona.
Haney is good but no where near the Oak. Arnold has him in what I call "massthetics" and of course the way he projects himself to the world at large and in bodybuilding is beyond anything Haney was capable of.
Yates is a bloated mass of tissue that is beneath Haney by a good deal. This coupled with his trademarked working man's personality (read: dull and unimaginative) allows Haney to simply destroy Yates with his far more aesthetic and yet still massive physique.
Coleman is even more turgid than Yates and Haney easily outclasses him in both physique and the "it" factor. Coleman has the "shit factor" down pat. People look at him and say, "Awwwww, SHIT!" Once you're past the overwhelming size of this barely moving mound of shit, unless you're a tier one schmoe or a fly it's time to move on.
Personally I think Bob Paris is superior to Haney and even more so to Yates and Coleman but can understand how he could lose to Haney. Haney was excellent.
And then there was Arnold. Again, Haney had more Olympia wins than the Oak. Big whoop. I think Weider simply orchestrated that to try and humble Arnold. Joe the Schmoe failed on that, big time. An Arnold, like Steve Reeves before him, only comes along (maybe) once in a lifetime. Too bad for Haney, Yates, Coleman and so many others that they were born in that lifetime. Whatever they did is still under the shadow of a very large Austrian Oak.
