Not a rumor. He might train at that time now but when I trained with him it was at 4:30am before I left for school. I had to be in the gym by 4:15 if I wanted to train.

I used to see his photographs along with so many others of the greats at Leo Stern's Gym in San Diego.  He was fantastic.

Thats right, I`ve read an interview with him [must be in the late 70s] and he said he stands up at 4:00 in morning for training

I have spoken with Bill on several occassions (both in person and on the phone). I cannot say enough good about Mr. Pearl.
