I choose to remember him in the late 80's and early 90's when he was a bad muthafucka. He hit a baseball harder than I ever saw one get hit before. He hit one in the old Yankee Stadium one time and I swear it looked like there was smoke coming off the ball. He murdered the ball. They should have called CSI after that one.

I saw Jose hit a shot at Toronto Sky Dome that looked like it was going to leave the stadium

The ESPN HR challenge of year 2000 had the greatest group of sluggers in history , only Sammy Sosa couldn't make it.
Canseco eliminated guys like McGwire Bonds Ramirez, etc.

At the end it was him and Palmeiro to the finals. Was the last time I saw 500 feet HR flying across the street of ball park, Canseco was a beast.

Canseco won, ironically that same season MlB started blackballing him.

Personally I don't believe for a second that he blew his finger off cleaning his gun.

I think he got in a fight with his live-in girlfriend and grabbed the gun from her and it went off.

Cops investigated it but couldn't get anywhere since both of them stuck to their story.

Shit happens but who doesn't check their guns before cleaning. Give me a break.

Every time I her the name Canseco I think of that ball bouncing off his dome and going over the fence for a home run. what a tool.
