50+ websites, Vince? Dude, you are all over the place. Pick one with the best margins, and dump the rest. If I were you, I'd take one website and pour all my dollars into promoting it online. You cannot be a major player in multiple spaces at the same time with the limited manpower & budget you have to work with.
The majority of my websites are autonomous....basically they run themselves without any updates are anything from me and they do pretty well in getting affiliate commission and Adsense revenue. Some websites I run for other people and charge them for maintenance and hosting but again it doesn't require hardly anything from me. Overall, the amount of time I spend per week on all of my websites is about 3 hours and most of that is just watching FileZilla upload files while drinking coffee. I spend an hour a month on some light bookkeeping other than that so in all that's about 13 hours a month. The rest of the time is just asking calls and emails and that's very sporadic....I just hit the pause button on my Playstation if I have to answer a phone call or let my RingCentral system route the call to a service box....feel free to call 888-827-4472 and try it out.
You should never put all of your eggs in one basket which is why I run so many websites. After being in business for 14 years, I've figured most of the bullshit out
