Obama's amnesty plan is almost identical to reagan's.  A lot of people don't realize that.

That's not what I  heard.  I'm not an expert on it because I was very young at the time but I heard there were some very significant differences.  One of them being that it affected far fewer people.  Thousands not millions.  I don't have time to research it right now but I will and I recommend other do as well.

They both gave amnesty to about 40% of the illegal population.  Back then, it was a little under 3 million for Reagan and 1.5 million for Bush 1, but today there are more illegals. 

Reagan said "Anyone, and I mean anyone who has been here illegally for 4+ years, you can stay".  Obama?  He made it 5 years.  Very very similiar.   Repubs keep saying "Obama is letting MORE in", it's the same proportion (maybe smaller, since there may be more than ten million illegals here.)    Reagan let in a ton, Bush let in less.  Obama is very similar to reagan on this.  On the political board here, many "regulars" who love reagan, loved clinton, loved bush, hate obama.. they're actually okay with the bill cause it's just so close to the reagan bill, line by line.  it just lets the illegals from 5 years back stay, and lets the DREAM kids (whose parents are illegal) stay.

Now, Reagan said the same thing - ANyone living here for 4+ years is LEGAL.  But the difference is, he sat down with congress and got a bill they all could agree upon.  In our constitutional republic, we chose those poeple to vote for us, and they agreed on amnesty. 

Many people (middle rino repubs) are outraged over the administrative procedural failure, not amnesty itself.  They were okay when reagan did it because he worked with congress.  Obama just did that shit solo, with congress and the nation against it.

We are not stopping the influx of millions of illegals, in fact we are encouraging more by not enforcing our own laws.  If your boat is sinking you have to plug the hole before you decide what to do with the water that's already in the boat.  Secure the border first, period.  Then, if there is a need, allow more legal immigrants to come in and issue more work visas.  This idea that we owe them legal status just because they've(allegedly) been here a long time is absurd.
