Believe it or not this has all the ingredients to be a hit, making it on the lines of modern superhero movie when they are the trend is a smart move. This is aiming at a wide audience, research shows fans are a very small percentage in the grand scale of things. So this movie might piss off existing fans of the franchise but the wide audience is what will bring in the big bucks. For the masses this will be their very first terminator movie. The small percentage of fans bitching about the trailer is very small compared to the positive feedback. Most on here are a bit older and hold the originals in high regard so the negativity looks high.
Arnold is set for a hit, the trailer views and interest generated by it is huge

1) Woman struggles to find father figure for son.
2) Woman goes crazy trying to live up to pressures of a man.
3) Woman fears the acts of man(skynet)
4) Woman finds father figure(a machine)

etc etc.

That whole element is what made that movie so epic.

The worst thing is that the first 2 movies were ground-breaking. They could take inspiration from those movies by trying to original and creative just like those movies were when they were first released. Instead, they just go down the route of generic, formulaic, brainless shite.
