Author Topic: Buying a new SUV, Parker, Tedim? (Read 8992 times)

Upgrading the current SUV for a larger one to carry the two kids, everything associated with that etc. Looking for new, and something over 6,000GVW to get the $25,000 tax write off for the year. Drove an Expedition EL, Suburban, and am planning on the Sequoia as well. Any ideas? I really like the Suburban, and for the price (both have a sticker of $63K), it blows away the Expedition in terms of size and ride. Any other thoughts would be welcomed, but not trying to spend stupid money on a vehicle, like a Mercedes or something. Also, when did new cars become so expensive?

you're gonna have a tough time getting mpg like that with something as large as expedition/suburban size. you might have to go the hybrid route like the escalade esv.

I saw a really sexy mercedes jeep on the road the other day. Curious what model it was. Not blocky, pretty wide/flat appearance and elegant.

Possibly this, I'm not so sure

Fj cruiser in a bright color looks pretty cool but it will have a crappy Toyota interior

That ain't no "Jeep", that is Mercedes entry into the luxury CUV market. Based o the same platform of the CLA/A Class.

As far as what the OP wanted. Look at it like this. A Mercedes will have huge depreciation. The BMW X5, chances you going have "issues". Large SUVs, the US does well. The Surburban is good, but also look at the Toyotas as well, like The Land Cruiser (Land Crusher).
