I love wagons, but the US Allroad is the spastic little brother of some of the greatest wagons we'll never get here, the s4 and rs4 (and s6 and Rs6) avants.

The outback is a pathetically underpowered minivan nowadays and the magnum is acceptable as a Hebrew ride.

Volvo makes a 330 hp wagon which somehow manages to be slower than the 4 banger bmw , otherwise there's fuck all unless you get the caddy ctsV wagon , a last gen s4 avant or the merc high end wagon (which is a beauty but six figures)

Most fun SUVs I test drove were the macan and the sq5 .. both about 55k bare bones. Fast as fuck but the sq5 steering feels awful

We ended up getting a forester 2.0 xt for 26k , it's as fast as the x3 and much cheaper.

yes those audis are the shiznite.

i've never had a subaru but want several models.  i know the outback is a turd but apparently a very-well made and all around capable turd for daily driving and long trips.

Sequoia seats 8, starts off at 44k. Land Cruiser starts off at 79k.

that's backwards to me but only because the sequoia looks 10x better.

I never really got Subaru but the new forester 2.0 is surprisingly good, I drove it back to back with an M package x3 and didn't really notice much difference.. And since it's for my wife I figured she wouldn't care about the cvt or the other minor drawbacks of it

Only downside is feeding it premium gas if you want that 6 second 0-60

lol.. still an improvement of my 03 lightning.  12-13 mpg of premium and an irresistible urge to stop it everywhere.  quite a ruckus.

would kill for a entry level wrx hatchback right now.

What about a Tahoe?

It has shit for trunk space. It literally has about 8 inches behind the seat. Suburban is probably my choice, but it's my wife's car and she has to drive it, but she's willing to go with it if I say I'd prefer that one. I'm gonna look at the sequoia, but the euros are out.  They're too small. Like I said, we have a 4runner now, and it's too small for me, and we're out of cargo room too.

I'm going to buy one for myself. I currently drive a crew cab, but need an upgrade. I'm trying to take advantage of a year end write off, and take care of a need that I'd otherwise do sometime in the very near future anyway.

How are the dodges?  Thinking about changing from the Powerstroke.

i've heard dodge transmissions aren't nearly as good as the others but i honestly wouldn't care.  i love the ram series and would go that route if i were in the market.  i have no need to tow anything huge.

my father had a bad experience with GM a few years back and i think they don't care about their customers.  fords are okay but have hit or miss reliability.

if i wanted a regular full-size i'd honestly get a tundra.  if i wanted a dually i'd get a ram.

agree about the euros.  which is bigger, the sequoia or land cruiser?

Land Cruiser bit bigger and little more plush/prestige but WAY bigger price tag.

My sister has Sequoia Platinum and it is stuffed and lacking nothing. Her only bitch is smallish gas tank. The 5.7 DOHC V8 is pretty beastly rated at 380HP conservatively.  It is not exactly thrifty on fuel but I'm sure you know that going into this segment.

It's like nobody's listening. I'm 6'4 and need a bigger SUV. Porsche, while what I would prefer to drive, is a step back from the 4runner.

Suburban with the new motor had hwy mile 18mpg. The new expedition EL have the twin turbo v6 that is 22mpg on the highway. It's the same price as the suburban but not near as big. Probably dwarfed by the Tahoe.

I'd make a bigger compromise on mpg.  for something as huge as you want i think you'd be happier with what you really want even if it's overall 15mpg or better on premium or 13mpg or better on regular.

Porsche suv different class than 4runner.

But 4runners (at least the older models) are legendary and virtually indestructible. Not very roomy interiors either verry cramped.

You need a truck my friend.

Avalanche perhaps?

These threads are always funny u always get the guys recommending Porsches, bentleys, AMGS, etc... Not everyone is looking for and can afford those types of vehicles and even so it may not fit their needs and criteria  ::)

Avalanche discontinued unless you considering pre-owned.

That would be a nice option but I'm not waiting until 2016  :-\ golf r @ 290 hp even with the EPA gimping is still getting my $$$ but I wish the s3 was coming as a hatch here, if just for the look.

agree about the R.  i'm pretty pissed off that more companies don't make manual hb's with AWD like the R.  i think there's a huge market for rally or rally style cars here and we're just fucked out of them.  i want to see the speed3 and the focus St in AWD.  or bring the focus RS over here for god's sake.  i'd even settle for a citroen C4.

Did you see this?

http://www.autoblog.com/2014/10/21/ford-focus-rs-imported-europe-report/

Shame if true because this is the shit that drives the price way up then the car companies say "people just don't buy large numbers of the enthusiast version of these cars"

yeah, no wonder when they go for $40k

Maybe it'll spark a dick measuring contest and get VAG to bring the golf 400 to the US

Lol, as if that would ever happen :'(

that's disgusting.  as a general V8 representative i'd have to resign.  the whole retro/muscle line is too heavy to compete against that.
