Jay had a good back it was just that Ronnie's was THE best. I kinda agree with Parker that Gunter should have been a bigger threat. Jay certainly had his issues but was good and being massive, shredded and separated.
Ronnie was just amazing but as great and as far ahead he was of everyone else he still had his issues:
Lacked triceps
Funky looking abs
No calves
Quads huge but not separated like Jay's.
Gyno
And a gut later in his career.
Gunter had a wide waist, but the dude was a MONSTER. I think at his first Mr. O he was 290 pounds. Granted he was 6'1, same height as Dillett but carried more weight than Dillett did. And then when Gunter beat Ronnie at the GNC, it was actually a positive---because it showed that the champ was not unbeatable, and it created more interest and suspense, and gave Ronnie an incentive to become better. He couldn't just cruise, had a legitimate threat.
Ronnie didn't lack triceps, they were huge. It's that his medial head was a lot thicker and bigger than the long and lat heads.
And his calves, well, Ronnie's forearms matched up to his upper arms, and his calves are bigger than his forearms, so that should give one a clue. But, his quads did outdistance his calves.
Abs---yep, funky, although when he was younger, his serratus and intercostal showed more.
If we look at it like this, the less aesthetic but more freaky tend to win the mr. O--- Dorian, Ronnie, Jay, Phil (to a degree, he was hailed as a Flex/Levrone hybrid before he got bigger). And maybe Haney (as compared to Lee Labrada), with the exception of Dex Jackson.
