for every new generation life expectancy grows.

do you feel cheated knowing that coming generations will have a good extra 20-30 years?

its not really fair is it.

and its not fair we live longer lives than past generations. for that we feel a tremendous guilt.

These who are like 10yo now, and will have some decent money - will possibly be able to live a very long and healthy life... It's funny, most doesn't even imagine of how that will change relatively soon. Too bad we may be the last generations to live the "short lifes" whether we want it or not.

Longevity is more than genetics and scientific miracles. How you live, work, eat, and maintain your body makes a big difference. Taking dangerous chances often cuts life short. Much of your longevity is in your own hands. There were people all through recorded history who lived into their eighties and nineties. They tended to be the more intelligent and responsible people of their times.

Where did you get this idea? From what I've read the life expectancy is going down due to obesity alone. I would hate to be fat for one and a fat 75 year old is even worse.

Been tired of this life since age 25...live longer isn't my dream really : ). Everyday is a struggle to get through

The world spin round and round every year! Nothing change! If u doesn't get bored your a retard! Like a goldfish swimming round and round in the bowl and get excited for every turn!

When u past the genetic reproductive age, life has no really meaning but work yourself to death and be a slave for the comunity! U die, then your kids die, and then your kids kids die...for no reason whatsoever! Then the world blow up! And it all start again!

Jeloux! Not really!

What's the point of living an extra 20-30 years.

Have you seen old people?

They all look miserable to me.

Congratulations, you are going to be 110 years old and wrinkled, weak, eyesight failing, joint problems, and all the other things that happen to old people.

Why most people instantly think that these additional years will be of a bad health?

Geez.. to be able to extend life that much by default means that health state will be vastly improved, in other words - people will stay younger (aka healthier) for longer. Is that so difficult to grasp?

Statiscally,  yes. However, we have lived through better times than these.

Max Lifespan has stayed the same, so your question is relatively stupid.

Life expectancy has not, which is what he was referring to

Irrelevant really as life expectancy has basically flat lined for a long time.  Arguing over a few months to 1-2 years max here, but this is easily explainable due to the sheer number of people living.

So in reality, completely meaningless and useless thread.

Max Lifespan has always been the same.

The moron who started this thread wanted to refer to max lifespan, but did not know the difference between expectancy and max span.

i would think all the shit food these days, stress, inactivity might slow it down.

My grandparents made it well into late 70s, ,smoking and drinking every day.  Some still kicking in their 80s.
But they never had mcJunkfood.  They ate beans from garden.  they didn't stress/think 24/7 like we do.

But the first person who will live to see their 150th birthday has already been born, according to a leading scientist.
Even more incredibly, Aubrey De Grey believes that the first person to live for 1,000 years will be born in the next two decades.
