I'm going to retract my answer on 2nd thought. The fact is, there are some people that don't require a relationship. They are fine with surface relationships, continual one night stands and constant change. For those, what you are suggesting may be accurate. For me, I like the relationship aspect, the shared inside jokes, the bonding and support a relationship provides. But not everyone is the same.
