Thought I'd share my little life event here... I had surgery this morning to remove my thyroid!

A year ago I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and took medicine for it... Then a few months ago, after an ultrasound and a biopsy, I had a cancerous nodule in my thyroid so had to go get that taken out! Luckily further biopsies showed that it had not spread to the lymph nodes. Spending tonight in the hospital!

Naturally, my first thought was... I wonder if any of the sketchy ass prohormones that I took in the past had anything to do with this? Guess we'll never know!!!

Have to take about a month off from the gym blahhh!

Hey boys. I'm back home now.. Was discharged yesterday from the hospital but had to go to the emergency room at 4 am because wasn't feeling right. Luckily doctor just said it was some exhaustion from not sleeping for two nights. Gave me something to help me sleep and feeling like a million bucks today.

I once had a scar right under my jaw. The surgeon advised me to use calendula salve and to avoid direct sunlight for a while. This worked well for me.

This was kinda funny... at one point the nurse wanted to change my blankets and I'm in the hospital gown which is all bunched up all over the place. So the nurse asks me "I'm gonna change your blankets now ok?" and I reply "Sure, but I'm all sorts of naked under here" and she goes "its ok, I'm used to it" and I reply "Sorry for the show!" She lost it, laughed so hard!

Seriously guys - you're all awesome thank you so much for the well wish wish and all the kind words!! They're a big help!

The countdown to my return to the gym begins!!!

And to answer your questions Adonis, yes I got about 4 other opinions, there was no difference in the response at all... everyone said I had to get surgery. The debate was whether to get half of it removed or the entire thyroid... I pushed for the entire thyroid, and the doctors supported that idea. Surgeon who did it is the chief of the department at Stanford - seriously one of the best in the world at this procedure. And no they did not tell me that I have to change anything with my diet, but this was a wake up call for me to take better care of myself, so I'm gonna try to pursue a healthier diet in general, eat more fruit and more vegetables. But in general all my blood work was great, I have good cholesterol, and overall very healthy.

This is very good to hear! I wish you and your family and your new little one all the best and hope you all have a great holiday. You will be as good as new in no time. Its all over and done with and the hard part is over.
