"Demand for nonpasteurized milk has prompted some state legislatures to consider relaxing regulations, but disease outbreaks associated with nonpasteurized milk have increased since 2007, researchers report. The percentage of foodborne illnesses linked to unpasteurized milk increased from 2% in 2007-2009 to 5% in 2010-2012. The researchers warned against consuming unpasteurized milk, especially by vulnerable populations."
