For one this is a global event more important of a change that 911 eleven, obama getting elected, a bunch of chinks drowing in some air plane, muslimsin europes, black people anywhere and 1000 other amounts of bullshits that have no affect on actual adult life for most people.
And this is pretty much as much of a blatant conspriracy as your gonna get.
The saudi government is intentionally planning to fuck with global markets in a manor that is more powerful than any tin foil hat wearer can dream up.
The question of why no one knows, could be to reboot the global economy, kill american shale, destroy green techs from becoming stronger, to get people to buy more cars, or to show putin's who boss at obama's request.
The reality is it's no stretch to assume all of the above.
Point is oil is the number 1 item on theplanet is oil, we need it to grow food, we use it for energym we use it to make plastics, etc if the price changes
