They do? So each time a team takes the offense, they use their own ball? I have never ever heard of this. damn.

Yep - But importantly, each team gets to use the balls that they provide on offense.

The Colts LB grabbed an interception from Brady - and he ran to his coach and said "dude, the ball is deflated".  The ball being deflated would help Brady greatly.  Colts weren't using deflated balls.

Coach called GM, GM called NFL, and they busted them as 3rd quarter began.  Looks to be pretty clean-cut cheating... and Brady's nervous laugh about it when asked this morning was pretty telling.  At that level, the quarterback KNOWS if the ball is deflated when he's throwing it.  I wonder how many "wins" along the way to his rings Brady has been using flat balls?

If they don't grab this INT, we never hear about it. So yes, you're right - all the people saying "why didn't the deflated balls help the Colts" don't realize the Colts weren't using the deflated balls... just the cheatin'ass Pats.

Don't let me stop you from getting this out of your system now, but how did the deflated ball help Blount run all day on Indy?

The referees handle the ball on every play, why didn't one of them notice.

As for spying...Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher said every team did it. The Patriots got caught because Eric Mangini informed the league when he left the Patriots to coach the Jets.

Aside from maybe making him less likely to fumble  -  If it helps the passing game, it helps New England score, it opens up everything.

it's like asking me how having a calculator helped my SAT scores because it totally didn't help on the reading part lol...

The league took it seriously enough to fine Belichek 500k and take draft picks away.  And other coaches have said every team was not doing it.

It's a ding on their dynasty run of a decade ago.  It's just the way it is.

Fair enough. I guess we'll see what the league thinks...not that it will change your opinion here. My guess is regardless of the league's ruling, you'll just add "deflated balls" to your ever growing pet list of Pats transgressions against civilization.

It's not transgressions against civilization.  It's cheating in football.  It's just something Pats fans need to accept.

It's like ARod and Ortiz = any success they have will be attributed to steroids, whether true or not.   Once caught, you get the label.

The Yankees -$$,  As = smart, Pats = cheaters, etc.....just part of the team rep and what they're known for.

cowher said every team tried to steal signals, nowhere did he say they used a camera

the fact still remains only one team repeatedly gets caught for cheating and you all know who it is

A few teams were doing it and the NFL sent out a notice to all teams telling them to stop.  NE decided to ignore the memo and kept on doing it, but it wasn't unique to them.

I am staying out of it.

I will add that Mike Wilbon from ESPN just said that the Colts linebacker officially denied saying anything about a deflated ball.

Now people are wondering where the story even came from.

Nope, it's just that they have a history of cheating and the cheating reputation, so anything like this will get put under a microscope.

Stupid shit... Because of spygate, Pats will get called out for lots of things. Nothing will come of this nonsense...Indy's balls were fine they couldn't do a thing.
Blount ran all day, Indy couldnt stop him at all.

Brady sort of threw like shit all day, balls didnt seem to help him much if that were the case.

Like the sayings go:

If you aint cheating, you aint trying

Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat.

Look what sure MVP winner Aaron Rodgers told Phil Sims and Sims talked about it during the game in the Patriots-Green Bay regular season game...Where was the outrage then?

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- With all the talk about deflated footballs, an exchange on the CBS broadcast of the New England Patriots' road game against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 30 seems timely to pass along.

Early in the third quarter, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms had the following discussion on the broadcast:

Rodgers
Nantz: We talked to [Aaron] Rodgers about 'How do you like your footballs?' Because, you know, you can rub them up before the game. [Phil], you really kind of created that for everybody else in the league.

Simms: I don’t know if I did, because the quarterbacks got tired of them complaining. But he said something [that] was unique: 'I like to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it.' Because he thinks it’s easier for him to grip. He likes them tight. Of course, he’s got very big hands and you can tell that by watching him play.

Nantz: You’ve never heard of a guy really desiring a football to be fat and overinflated before, have you?

Simms: Everybody wants it smaller and soft, so they can dig their fingers into. He’s such a feel thrower. You can tell. The one touchdown he threw down the field to the tight end is such feel; then he flicks it. That shows you he just has great control of it, with his fingers and hand.

Nantz: He said, 'God gave me big hands and a strong grip.'

Simms: You know, the officials do check those footballs and sometimes maybe even get lucky and put an extra half pound of air in there to help Aaron Rodgers out.

Does it apply to gym rats who use steriods? Is it cheating?

I'm sure there are people who label steroid users cheaters in bodybuilding and in the gym.  However, that's not the discussion.  I'm discussing real sports teams and their real reputations.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/20/brady-said-in-2011-he-likes-deflated-footballs/

So this has been going on for 3 years, at the very least.

I think the only logical punishment is to do what the baseball writers have done with the HOF vote on steroid era guys, everyone is guilty until prove innocent. Give them the Joe Pa treatment;  rescind the wins and stats until Belicheck and Brady pass away. Then reinstate them within 3 years.
