Pshit.  Paul Bunionesque.  Axes are for people who don't know how to sharpen a chainsaw or MacGyver up a log splitter.  Real men wear greasy tshirts.  Plaid is for schoolgirls and scotchmen.

So, having beards and wearing flannel shirts are things stolen from the gay community by straight men.
I had no idea.

No, having a beard to hide the gay is usually reserved for Hollywood's leading men.

I criticised the beard movement here ages ago, just another hipster fad. I think that article completely overthinks it though. Impressionable young men always copy trends - this started as far back as the movie 300 came out. As time went by more and more people tried to copy the Spartan look. Then those people became copied then hipsters destroyed it all by combining it with their shitty skinny jeans. End result? People over analyse it in articles like this while stroking their stupid beard and regretting that sleeve tattoo staring at them every letter they type.

Excellent post.

It always seems to come full circle.

Thanks, I am waiting until my ultra conservative casual clothes become hipster fodder and I have to change my attire. Doubt hipsters could ever pull off the tight elasticated white t-shirt, dark blue jeans and white trainer look as I have every night out for the past 7 years, but if they try I will have to rethink things.

I have the so called lumber sexual" look for few months.  Before I even knew that was the name off it. Until I chick told me the I look like a poster boy for lumber sexual ( she meant it as a compliment ).

A lot of chicks ( specially white ones dig this look). Latinas often tell me to SHAVE please ! Lol

And yes,  I have been sent messages by gay guys asuming this is a gay copyrighted look.

Wooosshhhhh Beyeke.

A big beard and lumbering wood with a chainsaw it's beyond messy. The sawdust mixed with the oil from the chain will make a real mess on your beard, not easy to clean. I use a hat to prevent it to stick to my hair. Forget about the beard.

I'm pretty sure beards have been around since before 2006.

I donno I live in a place where it's normal to have a beard, and dress in flannel.

Actually fuck, maybe its you folk ripping off newfies.

It's the fact that people are sheep and imitate each other. Next year it will be something else.
