Sorry, I forgot who I was dealing with.
We have police monitors who are civilians who also participate in citizen complaints. Also we give the citizen the opportunity to come in and view the video with the supervisor. When I was a Sergeant on patrol I viewed dozens of videos due to complaints and rarely found the behavior the citizen complained of, and many times found the citizen to be the jerk. When the citizen was offered to come in and review it, once they realized it was taped, I can recall 1 who came in .. the rest suddenly decided they might have over reacted..
hahaha, of course youre going to take your buddies side (cops). The problem is that you're viewing these incidents as a police officer, thus you're going to be biased to a certain extent. Like it matters that you view the videos with the citizen. Youre going to make a decision at the end of the day no matter what, and for the most part, youre going to take an officer side. Of course the citizen is usually the jerk.

Also, the civilians who supposedly look at these videos are only there because its good PR. I doubt the officers take their opinions seriously.
The police force is rotten to the core. Its a cult. You all have each others backs. At the end of the day, if you have to take a citizens side or your partners side, youre going to take your partners side.
