Yes really thanks...no sarcasm.

Look at this chart and what the Hebrew American has done to the Russian currency in 6 months as off today:

a 40% drop in value vs the Stirling.....OUCH, looks like Putin might have to pawn his Patek Philippe.

Not sure if it was Obama per se or rather the Saudis crashing the price of oil below the production costs of shale to drive those companies out of business. Russia with it's requirement for $100/bbl oil to be solvent got smashed in the process.

With all of his Ukraine bluster, Putin should have known that he had a Achillle's Heel. That said, Putin might just declare war in the Gulf and claim the Straits of Hormuz. Why the fuck not? His back is against the wall.

Oh, and even if he did, the ECB and the Fed would likely be able to contain the contagion.

What with the war with ISIS going on, do you really think that there will be a showdown with Russian/China and the West. With ISIS being shown "how the big boys do it"? or ISIS running interference for two sides, and creating their own little havoc?

Quoted for truth. Saudi Arabia is killing Russia with their cheap oil ploy to destroy the competition. Russia's economy is based on oil. Saudi is hurting Iraq and the other oil producers too. Saudi will play the waiting game. They have all their oil production infrastructure in place to weather the storm they created. As fast as the price of gas dropped it can be returned quickly so don't get to comfortable.

What I predict is Russia is going to claim more of the north outside of their country for drilling telling the US if you don't like it tough. They also might start a lot of trouble with their military and expand their selling arms to undesirables. They can also form an axis militarily with China to saber rattle warning the US stand down as China starts annexing property testing the US military resolve.

China is a net consumer of oil and can weather a storm of equity losses to get cheap energy. They have no interest in the short term in the price of oil rising. Thus Russia and China have divergent economic goals.

The US/UK in combination with the Saudi's are going all out to bury Russia.

They will do anything to get their hands on the Ukraine and the vast untapped gas reserves there. Ukraine is Russia, the bulk of the people their are Russian, they are pro-Russian, all the talk of Ukrainians wanting to be separate is smoke and mirrors. The only terrorists in Ukriane are the billionaires and the Tartars, they are a minority and they are the separatists, not the average Ukrainian.

Nobody to blame but Putin and his group of thieves who focused the majority of export economy money on oil/gas. These fucks just wanted to to reap all the benefits instead of investing in a balanced economy and development, and now all of Russia has to pay for their greed. No one is losing money on Oil being this price. It doesn't cost the Saudis or Russians anything to produce. All of the infrastructure that supports their oil production has been paid for a million times over. it is a natural resource that costs them nothing. Don't believe this bullshit of costs of $50-100 per barrel. They want you to beleive this shit so they can charge you a lot.
As for Oil being $1.75 in North Carolina. it can't go much lower because about $1 is just tax bullshit. In Cali even if Oil was free would still cost about $1+ because of taxes

The folks that were either directly or indirectly long on oil futures would disagree with you. And before you call out the "oil barons", don't forget that a ton of funds are nothing but a basket of investments that often times includes commodities and other non-equities.

1) Price of Oil has crashed, and Russian is very dependent on it
2) They attacked and stole with force Crimea, hence a ton of sanctions.

For those of you blaming the drop in oil prices for the crash...it's more complicated than that, the embargo I believe is the biggest contributor to this fall. Give Obama some credit for once.

If you look at the Kuwaiti Dinar....bearing in mind 94% of Kuwait's revenue is derived from oil exports, it is doing just fine ticking along. Same as AED Dirham (Dubai India related)
