Is bodybuilding a dead end?
« on: January 22, 2015, 06:49:14 AM »
After seeing Kai Greene in this Inspirational add "The Champions Mindset" ...

People were asking  "who is this guy and what NFL team is he playing for? "

A valid question since is an Add  about football ...

Is this the only way a Bodybuilder can become "famous" "narrating a football add' ? or displaying his physique outside Bodybuilding stage ??

Arnold is the most popular bodybuilder because he was Conan & Terminator (outside of bodybuilding)
Same thing with Lou Ferrigno  Hulk tv series ...

Now Lee Haney was probably the only Bodybuilder on mainstream media (ESPN) that had a 30 mins weekly show as a BODYBUILDER CHAMPION and current MR.O ....but that was briefly and over 25 years ago!!

When people say why is Kai Green talking about the mind set of a champion in a football add .......

What is he doing there ?

Imagine Tom Brady talking about what it takes to get in to the Olympia stage....  bodybuilding really needs that type of buster

Kai used bodybuilding to make a life for himself. He had his past issues, but he has made it to the top tier of pro BB.
I know Heath was a good point guard and even played college b-ball at U of Denver.
BUT, I seriously doubt Heath had the talent to play in the NBA.
The mindset to train, win and go balls to the wall is universal.

Bodybuilding always was a cult sport and their is no change in sight with that status.
The hardcore bodybuilders REFUSE to make the changes needed to go mainstream.

FYI, 80% of all NBA and NFL pros declare bankruptcy within 2 years after playing their last game.
ESPN did a documentary on this .

how can something that is subjective be a sport? cult yes, sport no.

you people fail to realize BB attracts meatheads and because most are meatheads, they can't understand why a subjective activity cannot be a sport, but the rest of the people with brains do understand that and that is why pro BB will never be given a shit by anyone with a brain.

pro bb is a Miss America pageant with ugly contestants.

stupid can't know it's stupid otherwise it wouldn't be stupid.

I've been around bodybuilding forever. Most of the guys I knew in the 70's and early 80's are dead or failures in life. They threw away their education and the pursuit of a career living the syringe life style. Few made it out like Howard. Few were able to lead a normal career and family when juicing for decades.  Who bases a life on impressing people with temporary syringe muscles as a life choice?  It's a fringe outside group of misfits that need the affirmation of others that they are a man.  When they go off drugs after awhile it's almost like a heroin junkie. As their muscle start going away and their testosterone fueled confidence starts to leave they need to start another cycle to keep up appearances. It becomes a vicious cycle of buying vials, pills and syringes like a junkie.

Is bodybuilding a dead end? Not if you train natural and put it into perspective. You can be fit, healthy and muscular training natural. You will never will come in third place at a Mr. Nowhere contest held in a the woods of Maine. What you will have is more important.

Ok, you're right, as I never did place 3rd at the Mr Nowhere in the woods of Maine.
BUT, I did place in the top 3 at the  AAU Mr Vacationland in Old Orchid Beach, Maine.

Train on your own terms and only compete at the local/state level, IF you compete at all.
Bodybuilding TRAINING and diet is wonderful healthy lifestyle.
Trying to win major shows and using a buttload of drugs is crazy.

To be honest, I do put too much "resource" into this. But... If it weren't this, I'd be putting my money up my nose and going out to afterhours every weekend.

But my question remains;  Why choosing Kai for this commercial if they were going to use NFL images?

If it's your dream yes.

If, like myself, you profit from others making it their dream...then no.

Yet you and alikes somehow still sound a lot more miserable than these "junkies"  ::)

Bodybuilding is great, steroids are great too (if used wisely). Doesn't interfere with my daily life at all (but I'm not a competitive bb'er, just an idividual who has a huge pleasure out of it) and due to it (and steroids in some cases too) I've fucked girls so hot you haven't even dreamed about. Not too bad.
Failures are these who make it only thing in their life. Then it's bad, but if you have in order other fields of life - bodybuilding may be an icing on a cake, a very great one, just the motivation needs to be right. I constantly laugh out of fools who frie their kidneys to win a "trophy", it's ridiculous, my motivation is completely different and after 15 years or so in the game I can't wait for another workout, it's just fun, fun, lot's of fun.

Mid Level Bottom?  Kai is suited to being a buttfuck buddy and that's about it.  A worthless, pile of shit wrapped in a filthy Schmoetel 6ex towel.  Anal and renal failure are what lies ahead for this turd.

He's a shitheap.  And just like every night in his semen filled world, he will get what he deserves in the end.

Building the body is not a dead end. It is my medicine. Without it I would just feel flat and tired. I train to feel good, alive, energetic. Muscles are just a consequence of the training.

BINGO!

Far better to get a pump and piss some $$ on bodybuilding then being a drunk or crack addict.

I know plenty of fat , bitter older dudes that spend a lot of $$ on golf .
They claim that golfing is good for 'em but they look pissed off and frustrated most of the time while playing, so wtf.
PLus, most golfers spend a lot of $$ on their "sport" and often get goofy lessons from various "club pros".
