Maybe they were scared away, couldn't deal with the attacks and criticisms or maybe the Internet evolved with the advancement of social media,  competitors signing exclusive contracts limiting where, when, and how often they post.

Ron probably hasnt, isn't and won't be paying anyone to post here so that is probably a big factor.

Get big is still very relevant,  up and comers/ unknowns will use this place to make a name for their self/ spam the board with their website/media info.

Once you consider these factors, interacting with fans on their own accord/ not needing a secondary party to do that, and the fact that GB isn't censored keeps things uncomfortable.  At least they can block people on twitter and Facebook.

Pros still post here, we just don't know who they are.

Btw on what boards do you interact with said bodybuilders?

Maybe a few years ago

this board is dead as fuck  now, half the members have left in the last 6 months.
I'm the most famous bodybuilder that posts here, and I'm not even a bodybuilder.

Ill agree that something is going on. There use to regularly be 1900-2000+ posters (as a high) daily.

Now it seems we cant get above 1600.

Did certain people really have that many gimmicks?

Does this site get bots from time to time?

The fact that ALLl pro hormones have been banned for about a month, the ph/ps market is OVER...and nobody has said a word about it tells you how serious this forum is about bodybuilding

There was a thread already made about the prohorme ban/law.

As I see it, the forum evolving has more to do with people aging. People are not the same as they were 5-10 years ago. Jobs change, people get married, have kids, move away, etc. Can't expect anything to stay the same, even an internet forum.

There are serious BB areas on getbig, and they are moderated as such.  But this section is just a giant freak show.  It's full of alcoholics, drug addicts, head cases and closeted homosexuals.  But...I would bet that most here are decent fellas in person.  You know, the kind that would surely give a reach around if they were plowing you from the back.

Getbig is an online gathering of repressed homosexuals who enjoy each other's conversation.  I'm not going anywhere and either are you princess.   :-*

I resemble that remark.

Bodybuilding is in the doldrums now in terms of personalities, etc.... And you can only argue drug stacks, old body builders, etc.... for so long before it gets boring. So the board evolved into what it is now. I tend to think of it as a life style board with a slant toward bodybuilding more than anything now-a-days.

Bingo.
I used to compete, then judged and even promoted a few shows.
I was also a major fan boy of the pro contests. That's now past, like bad gas.
Now, I'm a bitter old fart, and enjoy the goofy, repressed homo-erotic banter on getbig.

Yeah, and now its 8 years later. If someone was 32 in 2006, and is now 40 in 2015, a lot of things can happen: marriage, kids, jobs.

If someone was 22 in 2006, and is now 30 in 2015, a lot can change: get a new job, move away.

Yes, people age, but as more time goes on and on, people change. And as such, people get more mature. Look at MOS. He was a great troll, then found God, changed, now he does not post like he used to. No one who joined this forum when they were 20, and is now 35, is going to be acting exactly the same.

I hear,you.. My point is life in general is pretty much the same now as it was then.. People got married, went to work, changed jobs, moved , back then just like they do now ......the board was just more popular

Agreed. I guess some people just got bored of it. Who knows. I think it will ebb and flow.

This!

I think there's a void. The interest for bb is still here but bb peaked long ago and the current bb scene is simply laughable. So you come here to look at Arnold pics and have a laugh but you have to fill out with politics and humour because bb today is not interesting

I started on getbig mny years ago in my early 40's. Now I'm even older and senile, and have been consistent with my posting on getbig for many years now. Hmmm, maybe that's why the site is starting to suck ass?
