OBAMA: ‘DEPLOYING ALL ASSETS’ TO RESCUE AMERICAN WOMAN HELD BY ISIS

President Barack Obama told the Today Show the United States is working to release a 26-year-old American woman from the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL). The terrorists captured the woman on August 30.

“We’re deploying all assets that we can, working with all the coalition allies that we can to identify their locations,” he said. “We’re in very close contact with her family, trying to keep them updated. Obviously, this is something that is heartbreaking for families. And our obligation is to make sure that we do anything we can to try to make sure that any American citizen is rescued from this situation.”

The family requested that the media not release the woman’s identity. Authorities believe she is the only American left with the Islamic State. The terrorists beheaded journalist James Foley in August and also aid worker Peter Kassig in November. The group beheaded Japanese journalist Kenji Goto on Saturday. They also burned alive Jordanian pilot Mu’ath al-Kaseasbeh and released the video on Tuesday.

The Islamic State offered to swap Goto for failed suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi, who is on death row in Jordan. However, Jordan demanded they release al-Kaseasbeh for al-Rishawi. Since the terrorists murdered the pilot, Jordan announced they will execute al-Rishawi on Wednesday for her participation in an attack on the Radisson Hotel in Amman in 2005.

Thursday a the Senate Armed Services Committee about the Guantanamo Bay detention facility, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) grilled principal deputy under secretary of defense Brian McKeon about anger over prison causing terror attacks.

Cotton said, “They don’t attack us for what we do, they attack us for who we are. It is not a security decision. It is a political decision based on a promise the president made during his campaign. To say that it is a security decision based on propaganda value that our enemies get from it is a pretext, a justified political decision and my opinion, the only problem of Guantanamo Bay is there are too many empty beds and cells there right now. We should be sending more cells there to keep this country safe. As far as I’m concerned, every last one of them can rot in hell, but as long  they don’t do that, they can rot in Guantanamo Bay.”

President Barack Obama offered the nation a lesson in moral relativism at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, when he admonished Americans not to “get on our high horse” about radical Islam because “people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ,” including here in the United States. Obama’s statement was both immoral and insensitive, and appeared to excuse the grotesque atrocities carried out by radical Islam, as well as his own passivity in responding.

Obama’s moral equivalence–immoral equivalence, really–between medieval Christianity and contemporary radical Islam points to the fundamental reason that he has often refused  to identify terrorism as more than “workplace violence”, and “extremism” as something other than radical Islam. Obama’s focus is to transform America, and to do that he first needs to humble America, to convince Americans that there is nothing innately better or exceptional about our chosen values.
