According to all of the yacht appraisers I've spoken to, this is likely the 4th yacht that Phil has purchased, and actually not the largest one.

He would go broke just from the maintenance alone. He can't afford that even with all of his winnings and sponsors put together. He could however probably afford something in the $750-$1mil range if he started investing ALONG time ago and built up enough to enjoy it NOW. But if he didn't. He can't.

Just sitting without even moving would cost him 4-5mo. Depending on the size of the ship, say it's a 60ft, he would be looking at almost 2k for fuel alone. Just go from Long Beach to Catalina (26miles) would be about 700-800.00.
