Rich had some structural flaws but he was extremely thick and brought a whole new level of conditioning and hardness to the stage for the mid 1980's.
As I mentioned in the interview, he was the best bodybuilder in the world except for Lee Haney for several years. He beat Mike Christian, Lee Labrada,
Gary Strydom, Berry DeMey, Phil Hill, Robby Robinson and many others during his years of placing runner-up to Haney.

Little pecs, little arms, narrow shoulders, wide waist.

Shredded?... not much separation for having thin skin, especially his back.  Balanced?... legs were too big for upper body.  Fantastic?... hardly.

Placed 2nd in the Mr. O... huh?  ???

It was his level of conditioning that saw him do so well, and I wouldn't say gaspari had little  pecs.

.. Was phenomenal for his time .. To his credit, he made the best of his potential and surpassed men with much greater genetic gifts by virtue of his dogged determination and hard work ethic.. He placed 2nd at his Olympias because all things considered; he was the 2nd best on stage at that time... He is a true legend and inspiration for these reasons.. Those who were around at the time would understand this..

No test? lol.  200mg of Anadrol daily? Wouldn't someone be a walking waterlogged doughboy back then?  I know today they use drugs to offset the water retention and take this stuff even on the day of the show. :-X

I agree, he was awesome for his time. I put in the full posing routine from the '85 and '87 Olympia so people who weren't around back then could appreciate how thick and hard he was, especially compared to
the bodybuilders he was competing against.

The two things he was famous for; are exactly what ?

1- Becoming a pro Bodybuilder so young

2- being so ripped shredded and extremely low BF

In other words you need to abuse drugs since early teens years and diuretics.

Only in Bodybuilding that can be something to be awarded for.

What are you Gaspari nut-huggers smoking?

17" arms, horrible structure, blocky, narrow, bad skin, I could go on and on.

I saw him in the first Arnold Classic.  Hard to believe he beat Robinson, Samir, Paris... even Fox was better.  80% of the audience was booing when he won, including me.

You did a great job. I enjoyed it. It was my during my teen years when I started competing and I had all the VHS Olympia tapes.  I even stole some of Rich's posing music to win my National Teen title.

Thank you! I am Rich's age so I can relate to what you are saying. Please check out my website for future shows. I interviewed Samir Bannout, Chris Dickerson and Boyer Coe in the last week so those interviews are coming up next. www.FloridaPhysique.com
