What the science behind this? Just Keto diet and the body starts using fats as a energy source?

Ya thats what im not clear on, since dietary fat is apparently different than human body fat cells

When I looked in to Ketosis it stated that after about 3 weeks with out carbs the body will start to become more efficient with using fat as energy for the brain and body.  The confusion is do that mean dietry fats or body fat cells.. What fat does the body start using because somthing has to replace glucose since that's what the brain runs off of

The body fat will be burned for energy. The body will also create any needed glucose via gluconeogenesis. There are essential fatty acids, as in fats, and essential amino acids, as in proteins, but there are no essential carbohydrates. You don't need to eat carbs at all, none. Dietary fats are needed to build and maintain your body. You need fat for your brain and nerves, most of your brain is made of cholesterol. You need fats for your immune system to function optimally. You need fats for the body to create hormones to build and grow your body and muscles, and to aid in protein uptake and cell formation. In the high fat, moderate protein, extremely low carb dietary environment that is the keto diet, your body realizes that you are getting plenty of fat in your diet, for all the necessary body functions that fat is essential for, so it has plenty of fat available, and isn't starving, so it freely burns all stored body fat for energy, cutting the body fat, and giving you muscle definition. That's how the keto diet works for you.

Sounds good in theory and actually sounds very healthy, besides my pissing out of ass today. Im about 14 days in. Feeling harder and weight is still up (which is good) as im not really trying to cut (yet). Im just tired of not looking lean with my shirt off, unless i dieted on low cals for 6-8 weeks . The purpose of this trial for me is to stay in shape yr round

The old time bodybuilders weren't fat slobs most of the year the way today's bulbous so-called bodybuilders are. Guys such as Reg Park and Steve Reeves looked great all year.

You're pissing because in ketosis the first thing that you lose is water weight, mostly from depletion of your stored glycogen. Glycogen holds huge amounts of water. So you need to get rid of it before your body can start burning body fat for fuel.

Sounds solid. One thing though it might be related to just pure bodybuilding when when I go Keto I burn off muscle. So people I know don't I happen to not be that type.  If you looking fir a way to stay lean and healthy Keto sounds on point. But for me it dosent work for contest prep. Of course that is a extreme example

You may think you are losing muscle, and if you mean muscle size, well if you have "fat boy" muscles, as a lot of today's balloon boy bodybuilders do, then sure, if your muscles are covered in fat, and you see zero definition, then yeah, keto diet will wipe out that sort of "muscle." Not eating enough protein for your size, weight, and workout could be a problem too, if real muscle is disappearing. You need to fine tune the keto diet to your needs.

I went Keto roughly 3 weeks out. Looking back my fats where not near high enough and protein was way to low. So I burned off muscle..

I hate veggies too.....I only like corn, raw carrots and raw celery.....all other veggies smell and taste like garbage to me.

Haha... funny... those are the ONLY ones I can eat... other than the occasional raw green pepper, tomato or cucumber..

Avocado oil is fantastic for keto diets.  It's neutral in flavor and you can put or or in practically anything for added healthy fats.
