It's strange but every twink in the gym seems to have decent delts when the rest of their bodies suck.  Their delts all stick out from the sides and are very pronounced.  In days of past, bodybuilders had big chests, arms and such but delts never had that side flare.  It just seems like a strange mutation over the last couple decades.

Easy answer: Amount of drugs used today. Delts grow very fast on massive amounts of steroids.

I think this is the answer. The first part to grow when on cycle are shoulders in general.

I could do them with decent weight for years...and then, all of a sudden, I couldn't do shit because my shoulder was fucked. 31 years of lifting like a jackass with no problems and I fuck my shoulder on the 32nd year.

It was likely a cumulative injury though, no?

I just got the photos of my surgery.  I didn't really have problems until recently, but you could see the shit in there that was getting worn down.

Possibly. Although I blame Getbig. I read a post by Whitewidow where he advocated high-rep, moderate to heavy DB shrugs as a burn out. My shoulder never really recovered from that workout. I am just now getting over it.

Damn you, WW!  :D
